Abstract: A vacuum generator/amplifier system for gas applications and a brake booster generation method uses a vacuum amplifier system including a multi-lumen defining member comprising a modified venturi geometry having a converging section leading to a throat (lumen segment of minimum ID diameter), followed by a straight section culminating in to a diverging section and a port for output vacuum which is located after the throat at the beginning of the straight section. The converging section has a sinusoidal shape leading to the point of convergence, also called the throat, with a minimum internal lumen diameter D, and generates an amplified vacuum at the output with a gain ratio of four to one, with substantially reduced parasitic losses, even at low flows.

Abstract: A hybrid powertrain system includes an engine and an electric machine respectively connected to first and second drive axles, with the electric machine decoupled from the engine. The system includes a battery pack and a controller. The controller has slip integrators with a corresponding integrator value for a given one of the drive axles. The integrator values are indicative of an accumulated amount of drive wheel slip over a calibrated duration or window. The integrator values change responsive to axle torque and traction control status signal. The integrator values are added together to derive an integrator sum. Responsive to the integrator sum exceeding a calibrated integrator threshold, the controller executes a control action, including automatically executing a Weather Mode in which energy use of the battery pack is reserved for traction control/propulsion of the vehicle.

Abstract: An apparatus and a method for controlling a motor of an electric vehicle are disclosed. The apparatus receives a driving route for the electric vehicle and divides the driving route into sections. Each of the sections has one of two or more predefined road types. The apparatus calculates a motor control value for each of sections using pieces of past driving-related information of the electric vehicle for each one of the two or more predefined road types, and controls a motor of the electric vehicle based on the calculated motor control value. The electric vehicle may be an autonomous vehicle. In this case, the autonomous vehicle may be operated with an arbitrary artificial intelligence (AI) module, a drone, an unmanned aerial vehicle, a robot, an augmented reality (AR) module, a virtual reality (VR) module, a fifth generation (5G) mobile communication apparatus, or the like.

The clutch controller releases a clutch that switches a power transmission on and off between the engine and the driving wheel at the time of a regenerative driving by the regenerative controller. The condition satisfaction determiner determines whether execution conditions of diagnoses performed in a fuel cut state in which the clutch is engaged and the fuel injection is stopped are all satisfied.
