Abstract: A method of generating a horizon for use by an ADAS of a vehicle involves using digital location-based data, driver data and/or vehicle data to determine the likelihood that different outgoing paths are taken at a decision point along a currently traversed road segment, and deriving a probability that each path may be taken. The probability may be based on one or more of: an angle of the path relative to the incoming path, the road class of the path, a speed profile of the path, historical paths taken by vehicles at the decision point, and historical paths taken at the decision point by the individual driver or vehicle.

  • Patent number: 10527434
Abstract: A mobility apparatus (10) includes a position acquiring unit (3) that acquires a current position using a satellite; a control unit (1) that controls wheels (7a, 7b) along a route based on the acquired current position; and number-of-revolutions measuring units (8a, 8b) that measure numbers of revolutions of the wheels (7a, 7b). If acquiring the current position using the satellite is disabled, the control unit (1) calculates distances per revolution of the wheels (7a, 7b) from a moving distance by using the satellite and the numbers of revolutions of the wheels (7a, 7b) measured during the period in which the mobility apparatus has moved by the moving distance, calculates numbers of revolutions of the wheels (7a, 7b) at a distance by which the mobility apparatus is to move after acquiring the current position is disabled, and causes the wheels (7a, 7b) to rotate by the calculated numbers of revolutions.

  • Patent number: 10527444
Abstract: A system includes a GPS module, user interface module, database and routing engine. To find nearby POIs in one embodiment the routing engine identifies POIs in the database located within a threshold distance from the planned route in Euclidean distance. The routing engine filters the results by exploring the road network to determine whether each of the POIs is within the threshold distance of the route in driving distance. The filtering may include exploring outward from the POI, until all roads within the threshold distance are explored or the route is reached; alternatively, distance to the POIs is checked by exploring outward from the route until all roads within the threshold distance of the route have been exposed. For those POIs reached in the exploration, the nearest point on the route and the distance to that point are known. Similar searches are performed based on driving time rather than distance.

The abnormality detecting unit includes a judgement unit for judging an occurrence of an abnormality when the difference between the fluctuation range of the first signal and the fluctuation range of the second signal is larger than a predetermined fluctuation range judgement value.

Abstract: Two control strategies may be implemented to optimize mud circulation in a drilling mud circulation system. In a networked control strategy, the mud circulation system does not involve any centralized controller yet all the local controllers can exchange information in real-time via a central data storage. The master-slave control strategy involves a centralized optimizer, and the subsystems are treated as slave systems and are driven by a visual master control system.

  • Patent number: 10527469
Abstract: Disclosed is a flow-rate measuring system for drilling muds and for multiphase mixtures (water/oil/gas) also with transport of solids or sand and in the presence of heavy oil. The system includes a flow-rate measuring system for drilling muds and/or for multiphase mixtures, wherein the measuring ports are equipped with an appropriate pre-chamber that enables elimination of the risk of failure of the measuring membranes in the case of particularly erosive mixtures and in the case of presence of solid by accumulation or transport. Furthermore, the particular vertical installation enables a compactness of the system in terms of horizontal encumbrance, enables installation where there is little horizontal space, and makes possible an undisturbed flow necessary for obtaining a higher measuring accuracy. The vertical installation enables installation, on the descending stretch, of a sensor for measuring the density that renders the measuring system autonomous (normally, the density is entered as external input).

Abstract: An apparatus, method and non-transitory computer readable medium method are described for identifying the phase fractions and flow-rate of a petroleum carrying pipeline with three-phase wavy-stratified flow. A set of semi-cylindrical electrodes are mounted on the internal surface of a pipe to monitor the total capacitance and resistance of the three-phase contents. The phase fractions are determined by relating the resistance and capacitance to the phase-angles associated with the interfaces between water, oil and gas phases of the mixture. To calculate the flow rate, measured capacitances from two sets of electrodes with known separation distance are cross-correlated to determine time delay. Communications circuitry transmits the measurements to a remote control center for monitoring. Calculated and measured results demonstrate close agreement. The percentage error exhibited by the proposed inclined capacitive plate technique is calculated and compared with published values.

Abstract: A microwave flowmeter and a flow rate measurement method are provided. The microwave flowmeter includes a transmitting circuit, a detecting circuit, and a computing unit. The transmitting circuit includes a substrate, a plurality of resonator elements, and a transmission line. Two ends of the transmission line receive high frequency electric feedings, so that the resonator elements separately generate corresponding microwaves and each of the microwaves has at least one resonant frequency. The detecting circuit detects offsets of the corresponding resonant frequencies that are caused when a fluid flows through the resonator elements, and records times at which the offsets happen. The computing unit is electrically connected to the detecting circuit, and computes a flow rate of the fluid according to the times at which the offsets happen of the resonant frequencies and locations that are of the resonator elements and that correspond to a flow path.

By way of example, a contoured insert may be specifically calibrated to the pipe line size to ensure the desired accuracy of the flow measurement, irrespective of pipe length between the device and other fluid system components that would negatively influence other flow rate measurement devices. Abstract: A device for measuring the level of a material (e.g., a liquid) in a tank is disclosed. An example device includes a non-buoyant flexible member and a plurality of sensor nodes distributed along the length of the flexible member. The sensor nodes are configured to indicate a change in orientation. A buoyant float provides a generally U-shape configuration for the flexible member, and causes an increasing number of the sensing nodes to depart from a substantially vertical orientation as the level of the material rises within the storage tank. A monitor is configured to monitor a signal indicating the change in orientation of the sensor nodes. As such, the device may be implemented to conveniently and accurately measure the liquid level in the tank.
