Abstract: The disclosure relates to a device including a plurality of electrodes for stimulation of both ventricles with application of an atrioventricular delay and of an interventricular delay, a processor configured to multidimensionally measure an interventricular conduction delay, and monitor the evolution of a patient's condition. For the multidimensional measurement of the interventricular conduction delay, the device produces stimulation of one of the ventricles and collects, in the other ventricle, two endocardial electrogram signals on separate respective channels, giving two respective temporal components. Both temporal components are combined in one single parametric 2D characteristic representative of the cardiac cycle, and a comparison is made with reference descriptors for deriving an index representative of the evolution of the patient's condition.

Abstract: Systems and methods for pacing cardiac conductive tissue are described. In an embodiment, a medical system includes an electrostimulation circuit to generate His-bundle pacing (HBP) pulses. A sensing circuit senses an atrial activation. A control circuit detects a retrograde atrial conduction timing, such as a His-to-atrial interval between the HBP pulse and the sensed atrial activation in response to the HBP pulse, and verifies capture status using the determined retrograded atrial conduction timing. Based on the capture status, the control circuit determines a HBP threshold, and the electrostimulation circuit delivers HBP pulses in accordance with the determined HBP threshold.

Abstract: In a method of interactive manipulation of the dose distribution of a radiation treatment plan, after an initial candidate treatment plan has been obtained, a set of clinical goals are transferred into a set of constraints. Each constraint may be expressed in terms of a threshold value for a respective quality index of the dose distribution. The dose distribution can then be modified interactively by modifying the threshold values for the set of constraints. Re-optimization may be performed based on the modified threshold values. A user may assign relative priorities among the set of constraints. When a certain constraint is modified, a re-optimized treatment plan may not violate those constraints that have priorities that are higher than that of the modified constraint, but may violate those constraints that have priorities that are lower than that of the modified constraint.

Abstract: A picture with multiple slices is encoded by generating a coded slice representation for each of the slices. A slice flag is set to a first value for the first slice in the picture and corresponding slice flags of the remaining slices are set to a second defined value. A respective slice address is generated for each remaining slice to enable identification of the slice start position within the picture for the slice. A coded picture representation of the picture comprises the coded slice representations, the slice addresses and the slice flags. The slice flags enable differentiation between slices for which slice addresses are required and the slice per picture for which no slice address is needed to identify its slice start position.
