Abstract: Among other things, first signals are received representing manipulation of a physical feature of a physical device by one or more fingers of a hand of a user. Second signals are received representing tissue electrical activity indicative of and occurring prior to the manipulation. The first signals and the second signals are processed to identify the occurrence of the manipulation. A control signal is sent to a game or other application with which the user is interacting. The control signal corresponds to the identified occurrence of the manipulation.

Abstract: Image assessment information is generated, and analysis information such as the degree of interest in an image presented to the user or a region of interest is acquired on the basis of a brainwave signal of a user observing an image. A content delivery unit that delivers image content, a data transceiver unit that receives delivery content, a head-mounted display that presents content, and a content analysis unit that analyzes content assessment information are included. The data transceiver unit generates assessment information set to be able to identify whether a brainwave signal is output when a certain image is presented in association with the brainwave signal and image reproduction control information acquired from the user and outputs the assessment information to a content analysis device. The content analysis device analyzes the degree of interest in the image presented to the user, a region of interest, or the like using the brainwave signal.

Abstract: A haptic feedback device for providing haptic sensation comprises a haptic feedback interface that includes a plurality of haptic elements. The haptic feedback device detects a plurality of different motion associated with a plurality of objects in an upcoming scene of a video based on a look-ahead buffer of the video played on an external display device or the haptic feedback device. A haptic feedback is determined for the upcoming scene of the video based on the look-ahead buffer of the video and the detected plurality of different motion associated with the plurality of objects. One or more movable haptic cues are generated on the haptic feedback interface using the plurality of haptic elements in synchronization with a current scene played on the external display device or the haptic feedback device, based on the determined haptic feedback.

Abstract: The holographic interface for manipulation includes a holographic display unit for constructing and displaying a hologram and a motion detector for detecting movement and location of a physical command object, such as a user's finger or hand, relative to the displayed hologram. The motion detector is in communication with a controller for converting the detected location of the physical command object relative to its position with respect to the displayed hologram into a command signal. The command signal is then transmitted to an external device, such as a robotic arm in a remote plant, or any other suitable external system. Alternatively, the hologram may be a holographic image of physical controls for an external system, for example, and the command signal may be a command for the external device to perform an act corresponding to manipulation of the holographic image of a physical control by the command object.

Abstract: The invention relates generally to a user interaction system having a head unit for a user to wear and a totem that the user holds in their hand and determines the location of a virtual object that is seen by the user. A fusion routine generates a fused location of the totem in a world frame based on a combination of an EM wave and a totem IMU data. The fused pose may drift over time due to the sensor's model mismatch. An unfused pose determination modeler routinely establishes an unfused pose of the totem relative to the world frame. A drift is declared when a difference between the fused pose and the unfused pose is more than a predetermined maximum distance.

The electronic whiteboard system includes an electronic whiteboard and an electronic device. The electronic whiteboard includes a functional area. The electronic device is coupled to the electronic whiteboard and includes a display. The electronic whiteboard receives a touch input to generate coordinate information corresponding to the touch input. The electronic whiteboard transmits the coordinate information to the electronic device. The electronic device receiving the coordinate information determines whether the coordinate information is located in the functional area of the electronic whiteboard. If yes, the electronic device executes a function corresponding to the coordinate information. If not, the electronic device displays the touch input corresponding to the coordinate information on the display.

Abstract: Acoustic touch sensing systems can include a mechanically integrated structure including multiple acoustic transducers. For example, an annular structure including one or more piezoelectric segments can be fabricated and then coupled to a front crystal/cover glass. A single structure can simplify the structural integration of the device, can provide a mechanically reliable and stable structure for improved structural integrity of the system, and can provide for improved water sealing for a waterproof or water resistant device. The piezoelectric material in the annular structure can be shear poled such that a poling direction of the piezoelectric material can follow the curvature of the annular piezoelectric structure.
