AERO-ENGINE FULL FLIGHT ENVELOPE MODEL ADAPTIVE MODIFICATION METHOD BASED ON DEEP LEARNING ALGORITHM
Publication number: 20200063665Abstract: An aero-engine full flight envelope model adaptive modification method based on a deep learning algorithm. A dynamic parallel compensator based on a recursive neural network is adopted to compensate the error of the original nonlinear model within the full flight envelope under the condition without aero-engine performance deterioration. A modifier based on a genetic algorithm is also adopted to conduct adaptive adjustment on correction coefficients of health parameters to be modified in the original nonlinear component-level model. The health parameters to be modified are determined by a multi-attribute decision algorithm based on integrated evaluation. The sum of the modified nonlinear component-level model output and the compensator output is consistent with the aero-engine operation test output data. This provides powerful support for the design of aero-engine control systems and fault diagnosis systems.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 25, 2018Publication date: February 27, 2020Inventors: Yanhua MA, Xian DU, Ximing SUN -
Publication number: 20200063666Abstract: A blowback air amount is an amount of air that is part of the air that has flowed into a combustion chamber and is blown back into an intake passage before an intake valve closes. Publication number: 20200063694Abstract: A method for activating an injector for injecting fuel into an internal combustion engine, in which a nozzle needle of the injector moves from a closed position in the direction of an open position as long as an activation signal is applied to the injector. The nozzle needle of the injector moves from the open position into the closed position when the activation signal is absent. The duration of the activation signal is selected in such a way that the nozzle needle does not reach its completely open position. In specific operating states, a second activation signal is applied to the injector before reaching the closed position of the injector, which has the result that the nozzle needle of the injector moves back in the direction of the open position.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 14, 2019Publication date: February 27, 2020Inventors: David Zimmermann, Helmar Gruhl, Johannes Schill, Stephan Topp, Ulrich Funk

Publication number: 20200063701Abstract: Operating an engine includes injecting a first charge of liquid fuel using a first set of nozzle outlets in a fuel injector, and injecting a second charge of liquid fuel using a second set of nozzle outlets in a fuel injector. The first charge is autoignited in a first engine cycle, and the second charge is autoignited in a second engine cycle, and may be used to pilot ignite a charge of gaseous fuel. Operating the engine further includes limiting errors in targeting of the second charge of liquid fuel caused by transitioning the engine from a first combination to a second combination of speed, load, and boost, by varying an injection pressure of the liquid fuel from the first engine cycle to the second engine cycle.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 21, 2018Publication date: February 27, 2020Applicant: Caterpillar Inc.Inventors: Jonathan W.
