Abstract: The embodiments described and claimed herein are a restraint system for securing a gurney in a vehicle. In one embodiment, a conventional antler and rail-type gurney restraint system is improved by the addition of a center latch restraint that engages with a latch member secured by a support bracket to the underside of the gurney. In one configuration, the latch member enters into engagement with the center latch restraint through lateral movement of the control end of the gurney. In that respect, the EMT may use the same autonomic movements used with the conventional antler and rail-type system to secure the gurney in the vehicle. Optionally, one or more of the gurney occupant restraint belts are directly connected to the support bracket, whereby occupant loads during an accident will bypass the gurney and occupant head excursions can be reduced.

Abstract: [Object] It is an object of the present invention to provide a liquid medicine supply device configured to reliably prevent infants and children from accidentally opening the liquid medicine supply device. [Solutions] A liquid medicine supply device (1) including a container (10) with a containing portion (11) and a mouth (16); an interior cap (30); and an exterior cap (60), in which the interior and exterior caps (30, 60) include a ratchet mechanism (50, 80). The ratchet mechanism allows the exterior and interior caps (60, 30) to be integrally rotated when the exterior cap is rotated relative to the mouth under a condition of the exterior cap (60) pressed against the interior cap whereas the ratchet mechanism allows the exterior cap (60) to be rotated relative to the interior cap (30) when the exterior cap is rotated relative to the mouth under a condition of the exterior cap (60) which is not pressed against the interior cap.

Abstract: A system for the closed transfer of fluids that provides substantially leak-proof sealing and pressure equalization during engagement of a cannula with a vial, during transfer of a substance from a vial chamber to a barrel chamber via the cannula, and during disengagement of the cannula from the vial is disclosed. The leak-proof sealing of the system substantially prevents leakage of both air and liquid during use of the system. The system of the present disclosure also permits pressure equalization between a vial and the system when the system is attached to the vial. The system is compatible with a needle and syringe assembly for accessing a medication contained within a vial for administering the medication to a patient.
