Abstract: A method of facilitating the piloting of a hybrid rotorcraft that comprises a lift rotor and at least one propulsion rotor together with at least one engine operating in compliance with at least one rating. For at least one rating, onboard calculator determines a first power margin of the power plant that is available for the lift rotor and at least one second power margin that is available for said at least one propulsion rotor. A single indicator displays a line together with a first index pointing to said line to illustrate a current operating point of the lift rotor, and a second index pointing to said line to illustrate a current operating point of said at least one propulsion rotor. For each monitored rating, a first symbol is spaced apart from the first index by a first distance illustrating the first power margin. A second symbol is spaced apart from the second index by a second distance illustrating the second power margin.

Abstract: A tethered uni-rotor network of satellite vehicles, is a novel aerial system which combines the best features of both fixed-wing and rotorcraft design methodologies, while minimizing their respective deficiencies. It is made up of a central hub with multiple tethers, where each tether arm radiates outward and attaches to a satellite vehicle; each having lifting airfoil surfaces, stabilizers, control surfaces, fuselages, and propulsion systems. The entire system operates in a state of rotation, which is driven by the propulsion units on each satellite. As the system rotates, centrifugal forces pull the satellite vehicles outward, which maintain tension on the tether arms. As the satellite vehicles move through space, the airfoils generate lift which supports each each satellite and a distributed portion of the weight of the central hub.

The package delivery mechanism includes a gravity activated locking mechanism to lock and unlock a package attached to the UAV based on the weight of the package. When the package is attached to suspension means of the UAV that lowers the package to the ground from the UAV, the locking mechanism automatically engages with the package and keeps the package locked to the suspension means, due to the weight of the package. When the package is lowered and reaches on the ground, the weight of the package is offloaded from the suspension means, which enables the locking mechanism to be disengaged, thereby releasing the package. The package delivery mechanism includes a severing module to sever the suspension means from the UAV.

Abstract: An apparatus includes a head mounted display (HMD) configured to generate sensor data indicative of user inputs. The apparatus further includes a processor configured to communicate with the HMD and a memory coupled to the processor. The memory stores instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to obtain a data package including technical manual data and one or more visual representations. The instructions also cause the processor to categorize the technical manual data of the data package based on content and formatting of the technical manual data. The instructions cause the processor to select a particular parser based on a categorization of the technical manual data. The instructions further cause the processor to parse, by the particular parser, the technical manual data to convert the technical manual data into converted technical manual data and to generate a data analytics object based on the converted technical manual data.

Abstract: The blade support apparatus relates to capturing and stabilizing airfoils such as helicopter blades to enable ground transport without requiring removal of airfoils or blades with the blade support apparatus and blades in a protective container. The blade support apparatus captures and stabilizes helicopter blades utilizing a support frame with vertical and radial adjustable supports. These supports have contoured padded cradles and means of adjusting the height and angle of the cradles to match the profile being captured. The blade support apparatus enables loading, transport, and unloading of the airfoils for transport in a separate blade container which may either be stand alone or attaches to a helicopter transport apparatus. An alternate embodiment utilizes a support frame which is vertically and radially adjustable. Within the support frame are the same contoured padded swivel cradles which also adjust to the height and angle of the profile being captured.

Abstract: There is provided an oriented wire electrostatic radiation protection system for a spacecraft. The system has a wire management system, and first and second wires coupled to the wire management system. A first wire orientation apparatus orients the first wire in a first wire direction toward, and in parallel alignment with, an approach path of approaching solar particles. A second wire orientation apparatus orients the second wire in a second wire direction opposite to the first wire direction. The system has a control system, and a power supply to charge the first wire to a positively-charged wire and to charge the second wire to a negatively-charged wire. When the approaching solar particles travel alongside the positively-charged wire toward the spacecraft, the positively-charged wire deflects the approaching solar particles away from the spacecraft, via electrostatic repulsion, and the positively-charged wire creates a radiation protection shielded region around the spacecraft.

Abstract: Provided is a multilayer heat-insulating material which reduces a deterioration in heat-insulating performance at the periphery of a mounting means for mounting on a mounting subject and which facilitates deformation into a desired shape. This multilayer heat-insulating material comprises a heat-insulating member (2) in which heat-insulating sheets (2a) and spacers (2b) are laminated, an engagement sheet (3) provided adjacent to the heat-insulating member (2), heat-insulating member engagement fixtures (5) for penetrating through and engaging the heat-insulating member (2) and the engagement sheet (3), and a mounting member (4) that is provided on the engagement sheet (3) and that can be removably attached to a mounting subject (9). Engagement of the heat-insulating member engagement fixtures (5) is such that the layers of the heat-insulating member (2) do not adhere to each other.

Abstract: Described herein is an arrangement (1) for guiding a wire in a wire binding machine (3), wherein the arrangement (1) comprises a guide member (5) and a first spring (7) arranged to act with a first spring force against the guide member (5), wherein the guide member (5) is arranged to bear against the wire and act against the wire with said first spring force in order to guide the wire during a wire binding process when the wire moves relative to the guide member (5). The guide member (5) is arranged so that a movement of the guide member (5) substantially away from the wire is allowed in order to reduce friction forces between the guide member (5) and the wire during the wire binding process, so that locking of the wire against the guide member (5) is prevented. Also described herein is a wire binding machine (3) comprising an arrangement (1).
