Abstract: An apparatus includes a catheter, an introducer, and an actuator. A distal end portion of the introducer has a lock configured to couple the introducer to a closed system intravenous line at least partially disposed in a body. The lock is configured to transition a seal of the closed system intravenous line from a closed state to an open state when coupled thereto. The actuator is at least partially disposed in the introducer and coupled to a proximal end portion of the catheter. The actuator is configured to move the catheter between a first position, in which the catheter is disposed within the introducer, and a second position, in which the catheter extends through the seal of the closed system intravenous line such that a distal end surface of the catheter is positioned distal to the closed system intravenous line.

Abstract: A shieldable needle device including a drive member is disclosed. The drive member is extendable between a biased position and an extended position for moving a tip guard from an first position to a second position in which the tip guard shields a distal end of the needle cannula. The shieldable needle device includes a pair of wings extending laterally from opposing sides of the hub that are movable between a laterally extending position and a dorsal position. With the wings in the dorsal position, the wings retain the drive member in the biased position thereby maintaining the tip guard in the first position. Movement of the wings from the dorsal position to the laterally extending position releases retainment of the drive member. A second drive member may be included.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an X-ray radiograph apparatus (10). It is described to placing (110) an X-ray source (20) relative to an X-ray detector (30) to form an examination region for the accommodation of an object, wherein, a reference spatial coordinate system is defined on the basis of geometry parameters of the X-ray radiography apparatus. A camera (40) is located (120) at a position and orientation to view the examination region. A depth image of the object is acquired (130) with the camera within a camera spatial coordinate system, wherein within the depth image pixel values represent distances for corresponding pixels.

Abstract: A method of calibrating a system for imaging a subject is provided. The method includes determining a position of an X-ray source of the system operative to transmit X-rays through the subject; and calibrating the position of the X-ray source with respect to a detector of the system, based at least in part on a field of view of the X-ray source, the detector operative to receive the X-rays transmitted by the X-ray source. In embodiments, the method includes positioning an X-ray source of the system via a controller at one or more calibration positions based at least in part on at least one camera of the system. In such embodiments the X-ray source is disposed on a mobile arm and operative to transmit X-rays through the subject, and a field of view of the X-ray source is directed substantially towards the detector at each of the calibration positions.

Abstract: A control device of a mammography apparatus includes an acquisition unit that acquires a radiographic image as radiography information in a case in which the radiographic image of the breast is captured and a generation condition setting unit that sets generation conditions in a case in which an ultrasound image of the breast is generated, on the basis of the radiographic image acquired by the acquisition unit. The generation condition setting unit analyzes the radiographic image to detect the amount of mammary glands in the breast and sets, as the generation conditions, an amplification factor of an ultrasound image signal and a dynamic range which is a width of a grayscale value of the ultrasound image assigned to a value of the ultrasound image signal, according to the detected amount of mammary glands.

Abstract: A mammography apparatus performs ultrasound imaging while moving an ultrasound transceiver having an ultrasound imaging region smaller than a radiography region from a scanning start position to a scanning end position for scanning. During the scanning, in plural states in which the ultrasound transceiver is disposed at different positions of the radiography region, the radiation source emits radiation to perform radiography. A control device acquires plural captured radiographic images. Then, a removed radiographic image, in which an image of the ultrasound transceiver disposed at different positions in the plural radiographic images has been removed, is generated.
