Abstract: A restraint system for a vehicle, with which in a pre-crash phase prior to a predicted front crash time a vehicle occupant resting on a vehicle seat can be raised from a comfort position to an upright operative position by a forward displacer, in which in a crash phase a seat belt fastened on the vehicle occupant exerts a restraining effect on the vehicle occupant, in which an electromotive reversible belt pretensioner is activated to limit the restraining force exerted on the vehicle occupant to a predefined force level, namely by means of forward displacement of the vehicle occupant along a belt force limiting travel. In accordance with the invention, when raising the vehicle occupant to the operative position in the pre-crash phase, the electromotively reversible belt pretensioner generates a pre-crash belt slack so as to provide the pre-crash belt pullout travel required for raising the vehicle occupant in a restraining-force-free manner.

Abstract: A system and method for compensation of turbo lag in hybrid vehicles is disclosed. The system identifies a zero boost power limit of the engine and a torque curve power limit. A turbocharger dynamic model is then developed based on measurements of the input engine power and the output max available engine power. The model is used to determine an overall propulsion power limit based on the combination of the engine and motor in operation. A power request by the driver may then be limited to the overall propulsion power limit to compensate for the effect of the turbocharger when propelling the vehicle using both the engine and motor and better simulate the engine-only response.

Abstract: A current command module is configured to, based on a motor torque request for an electric motor of the vehicle, generate a first d-axis current command for the electric motor and a first q-axis current command for the electric motor. An adjusting module is configured to: generate a second d-axis current command for the electric motor by adjusting the first d-axis current command based on a d-axis current adjustment; and generate a second q-axis current command for the electric motor by adjusting the first q-axis current command based on a q-axis current adjustment. An adjustment module is configured to, when a rotational speed of the electric motor is greater than a predetermined speed: determine a scalar value based on the second d-axis current command and the second q-axis current command; and determine the d and the q-axis current adjustments based on multiplying a flux error with the scalar value.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for controlling driving of a vehicle, and a vehicle system are provided. The apparatus according to the present disclosure includes a determination device that determines a closed state of an engine clutch, based on a state of a motor or an engine of the vehicle when a state of the engine clutch is unknown by an engine clutch controller. A state determination device receives information from the determination device to thus determine whether the engine clutch is in a closed or open state. A motor controller allows reverse rotation of the motor for reverse driving control of the vehicle in response to determining that the engine clutch is in the open state.
