Patent number: 10633535Abstract: Polyester polymer compositions are described containing a blend of different polyester polymers. The different polyester polymers can be blended together in order to produce an overall composition having a desired balance of physical properties and surface characteristics. In one embodiment, a compatibilizing agent can be added to prevent the polyester polymers from adversely interacting with each other. The composition can contain glass fibers and/or a thermally conductive particulate material. Polymer compositions can be produced having excellent strength characteristics, high glossiness characteristics, and can be thermally conductive.Type: GrantFiled: February 6, 2018Date of Patent: April 28, 2020Assignee: Ticona LLCInventor: Young Shin Kim

Patent number: 10633540Abstract: It has been found that numerous benefits can be realized by air blowing asphalt in the presence of at least one highly saturated polymer, such as polyisobutylene, and a reactive polymer having glycidyl groups, such as an ethylene-glycidyl-acrylate. This allows for asphalt streams which would typically not be commercially viable for blowing into industrial asphalt that can be used in roofing products and a wide array of other applications. For instance, this technique can be used to air blow currently available paving grade asphalts into industrial asphalt for roofing products. Other potential benefits include shorter processing time (air blowing time), reduced emissions, and blown coatings with improved weatherability. In one embodiment of this invention asphalt is only partially air blown before adding the polymer to attain a product having desired characteristics for specific applications.Type: GrantFiled: October 12, 2017Date of Patent: April 28, 2020Assignee: Building Materials Investment CorporationInventor: Denis Muki Tibah
