Abstract: A system and method for range of motion analysis while exercising, including methods for constructing user movement profiles based on repeated and typical user movements during exercises as are typical for an adult of a user's age, weight, etc., and capable of warning a user of unhealthy, unsafe, or anomalous movement patterns during exercise, using a balance trainer, range of motion analyzer, and a plurality of sensors in conjunction with an exercise device, in an effort to reduce health risks to users during exercise with an enhanced or mixed reality exercise device.

Abstract: A sports training aid comprising a body unit, attachable to a person's body or the person's sports implement, is provided with a positioning sensor module; a feedback stimulator; and a processor. The sports training aid is configured to provide instantaneous feedback on motion faults of a studied sports motion, and the body unit is intended to be attached to a person's body (or a person's sports implement) at a representative location, the location being bound to travel a path representative of the studied sports motion, and the positioning sensor module comprises acceleration sensors and gyro sensors, and the processor is configured to determine a still position corresponding to an event wherein the body unit is determined to be still, to keep track of the sensor module's movements relative to the still position, and to activate the feedback stimulator in real time, upon detection of a sports motion fault.

Abstract: An adaptive training system can determine a finite work capacity and critical power and use those determinations to generate an adaptive training programs for workout parameters. To determining a finite work capacity and critical power, the adaptive training system can receive workout data; generate data points by determining, for each workout, a maximum amount of work done for each of multiple time window sizes; fit these workout data points to a function; and determine a critical power and finite work capacity based on the fitted function. Once the adaptive training system has determined a critical power and finite work capacity, the adaptive training system can use them to generate an adaptive training program by keeping a function defined by a set of workout parameters below an ability function that is based on the critical power and finite work capacity.

Abstract: A system and method for projecting a collimated beam of light from a light source to form an illuminated spot on a play surface, where an athlete is positioned adjacent to the illuminated spot. The light source is controlled with logic stored in a training pattern database, whereby the illuminated spot follows a predetermined training pattern on the play surface, prompting the athlete to move on the play surface in a movement pattern corresponding to the training pattern of the spot on the play surface.

Abstract: A configurable flexible putting green system and methods provide a golf putting experience on a highly configurable simulated putting green surface. A movable, flexible turf belt is tensioned between storage devices at each end of the turf belt. A portion of the turf belt is configured as a putt spot, supporting the player's weight and simulating a real putting experience. The system is provided with actuators underneath the turf belt for creating a variety of undulations, inclinations, and declinations so as to simulate a wide variety of golf putting scenarios. A golf computer is provided for controlling the turf belt and undulators to simulate golf putting conditions according to a database of simulated golf putting terrain matching existing golf courses.

The current training load for the next workout recommendation is determined based on a present activity class, a phase of the micro-cycle of successive training days and the sum of the training load values for a number of past trainings. The present activity class of the user corresponds to a present fitness level of the user. A total target training load is determined based on the present activity class and the training goal, which relates to maintaining, increasing or increasing fast the fitness level of the user. The phase of the micro-cycle of successive training days for the next workout recommendation is determined by the realized training load value(s) for daily training session(s) of at least one previous day from training history data, as a percentage of the sum of the training load values for a number of past trainings.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for measuring a swimmer's speed and conveying the speed to the swimmer in real time includes a plurality of ultrasonic beacons each having a transducer configured to emit ultrasonic signals in a pool or other body of water within which the swimmer is swimming. A wearable, waterproof, ultrasonic receiver worn by the swimmer, receives the ultrasonic signals and generates corresponding signal data. The receiver's microcontroller captures and uses the signal data to calculate the swimmer's position and speed in real time, and conveys this information to a wearable, waterproof, user interface device worn by the swimmer, the user interface device including a near-eye display disposed on the swimmer's googles.

The submersible engine receives air from a snorkel that extends up above a water line The aquatic device has a fuel reservoir which may receive liquid fuel or may receive a fuel cylinder. Floatation chambers keep the aquatic device afloat with the engine submerged. The exhaust assembly and exhaust ports from the engine may also be submerged and the exhaust ports may provide additional thrust. A propulsion system housing integrates the drive shaft and propeller, clutch coupler, exhaust conduits and water flow conduits and is detachably attachable to the engine.

The resin composition has excellent tensile properties and, when used in a golf ball, provides the ball with an excellent durability without lowering the spin performance and distance performance of the ball. The resin is especially useful as a golf ball cover material for an outermost layer or an intermediate layer.

Abstract: In a multi-piece solid golf ball having a core, an envelope layer, an intermediate layer and a cover, the core is formed primarily of a base rubber, the envelope layer, intermediate layer and cover are each formed of a resin material, and the envelope layer is formed into two layers—an inner layer and an outer layer. The center and surface hardnesses of the core, the surface hardness of the inner envelope layer-encased sphere, the surface hardness of the outer envelope layer-encased sphere, the surface hardness of the intermediate layer-encased sphere and the surface hardness of the ball together satisfy a specific relationship. This ball exhibits a flight performance capable of satisfying professional golfers and skilled amateurs and possesses an excellent controllability on approach shots, in addition to which it has a good feel at impact and an excellent scuff resistance.

Abstract: This invention is directed toward a lie adaptor that can be used to adjust the angel at which the shaft attaches to the putter. In one embodiment, the lie adaptor is inserted into the hosel of a putter, then secured to both the shaft and putter head. In another embodiment, the lie adaptor has a cavity in its upper portion into which the shaft fits. In either case, the lie adaptor can be made with a variety of angle adjustments possible, such that a golf shop or even an individual golfer can quickly, easily, and economically adjust the putter lie.

The strike plate and frame define a continuous ball striking surface that has a surface texture characteristic of milling that extends continuously across both the strike plate and the frame.

Abstract: A frame used for mounting a bicycle eliminates bending loads typically observed in U-shaped frames, where an axial load is forced on the rear axle of a bicycle wheel. The frame uses the rear axle of the bicycle as a structural member to change the loading such that bending is eliminated. This reduces the requirements for the material strength of the frame. An axle interconnect system facilitates quick adjustment and mounting of the rear axle to the frame, and may use an existing skewer of the bicycle wheel. A resistance unit may be attached to the frame, or affixed to a joint in the frame, to facilitate use with a stationary trainer. Flexible frame members may be used to permit a rocking motion of the wheel when used for stationary training, or to allow for use on unlevel ground when training outdoors or for warmup before a race.

Through placement of two golf balls atop the putt ruler, a golfer may produce a putt that follows a straight line, when the stroke used may not have produced a straight-line putt on a single golf ball. The golfer may then evaluate the chosen target line in relation to the resultant putt and evaluate the speed of the putt as the ball travels along the playing surface.

Abstract: A unique configuration is introduced herein for providing a ball machine pitching tip. A linear actuator is coupled to the disclosed ball tip herein having at least one member protruding outwardly from a base and radially positioned about a coupling aperture. Positioned selected frictional contact points configured to an inner surface of the at least one protruding member enables an imbalance of torque on the object as released from the gripping tip from a velocity provided by the linear accelerator. The result is the ability to provide a variety of flight patterns (spins) of a ball for a given sport.

Abstract: A basketball goal lift system described. The basketball goal lift system includes a basketball backboard and a basketball rim coupled to the basketball backboard by a hinge and allowing the rim to move between a stowable position and a useable position. The basketball goal lift system also includes a telescoping pole driven by a hydraulic or electric motor. A concealment container houses the basketball backboard, the basketball rim, the telescoping pole and the hydraulic or electric motor when not in use. The concealment container has a lid which is closed during concealment and open during use.

A plurality of risers may be installed on the keyway bolt to raise or lower the overall height of the truck and, thus, the height of an attached skateboard above the ground. The design of the truck allows for increased lateral articulation of the truck when its height is maximized, thus allowing for tighter leaning and turning of the skateboard, while limiting lateral articulation in its lowest height articulation, resulting in increased lateral stability and the ability to operate the skateboard more safely at higher speeds.
