Publication number: 20200207635Abstract: The present disclosure describes a non-destructive process for removing metals, metal ions and metal oxides present in alumina-based materials without destroying alumina, allowing the regeneration of alumina-based catalysts. Known conventional procedures and/or methods for removing metals, metal ions and metal oxides present in alumina-based materials use some inorganic acid or its mixtures to carry out digestion, which modifies the properties of alumina and those of any other element contained in the material, destroying alumina and preventing its reuse. The present disclosure is characterized by using an extracting agent that sequesters metals, metal ions and/or metal oxides present in alumina-based materials without modifying their properties. The employed extracting agent is an alcohol. The non-destructive process introduced in the present invention reaches metal (M) removal rates of at least 42% when using a continuous flow reactor and of at least 27% when a batch reactor is employed.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 27, 2018Publication date: July 2, 2020Inventors: Patricia PEREZ ROMO, Candido AGUILAR BARRERA, Juan NAVARRETE BOLANOS, Santos Glorindo REYES ROBLES

Publication number: 20200207675Abstract: Today's funeral practices are unsustainable, toxic, and polluting. Both cremation and the manufacture and transport of caskets, grave liners, and headstones emit greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere. In fact, the very last thing that most of us will do on this earth is poison it. As a response, a system and method called recomposition that gently and naturally returns humans to the earth after death.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 25, 2018Publication date: July 2, 2020Applicant: RECOMPOSE, PBCInventors: Oren BERNSTEIN, Katrina SPADE

Publication number: 20200207681Abstract: Gas generants comprising copper are provided that have improved slagging ability. In certain aspects, the gas generants include a fuel, an oxidizer comprising basic copper nitrate, and a large particle size endothermic slag-forming component, such as aluminum hydroxide (Al(OH)3). The gas generants may be cool burning, e.g., having a maximum flame temperature at combustion (Tc)?about 1,900K (1,627° C.). The disclosure also provides methods of enhancing slag formation for a gas generant composition that comprises copper. Such methods enhance slag formation during combustion of the gas generant composition by at least 50%.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 23, 2019Publication date: July 2, 2020Applicant: AUTOLIV ASP, INC.Inventors: Ivan V.
