Abstract: A method of making a molded paper web includes bringing a permeable patterned surface of a patterned cylinder into contact with a nascent web and conveying the nascent web between a transfer surface and the permeable patterned surface over an arc length of the permeable patterned surface. The arc length forms at least a portion of a molding zone. The method also includes applying a vacuum over at least a portion of the arc length. The method further includes transferring the nascent web from the transfer surface to the permeable patterned surface of the patterned cylinder in the molding zone. The vacuum is applied during the transferring of the nascent web from the transfer surface to the permeable patterned surface of the patterned cylinder.

Abstract: A container and a preparation method thereof are provided. A material forming the container includes at least two types of oxidized nanocelluloses interlaced with each other, the at least two types of oxidized nanocelluloses being configured to have different degrees of expansion after absorbing moisture in a same environment. In a dry condition, the at least two types of oxidized nanocelluloses do not expand, so the structure of the container is relatively dense and the air permeability is poor, which can sufficiently maintain moisture of an article stored in the container. In case the article itself or other reasons cause high humidity, different oxidized nanocelluloses of the container expand after absorbing moisture, so that gaps between different oxidized nanocelluloses becomes larger, and the air permeability of the container becomes better, which can discharge excessive moisture, enabling the container to self-adjust the air permeability based on humidity.

Abstract: The present invention provides tissue webs and products that are manufactured by non-compressive dewatering and/or drying methods, such as through-air drying, where the webs and products comprise cross-linked fiber. The non-compressively dewatered tissue webs and products have improved sheet bulk and z-direction properties. For example, in one embodiment, the invention provides through-air dried tissue products having good sheet bulk and resiliency, such as a sheet bulk greater than about 15 cc/g and Compression Energy (E) greater than about 1.30 N/m. Abstract: A rainwater conveyance system comprises a vault assembly and a drain emitter. At least a portion of the vault assembly is underground and is located above a percolation region in the ground. The drain emitter is connected to the conveyance line such that a primary portion of the collected water flows through the first portion of the conveyance line and a secondary portion of the collected water flows out of the second portion of the conveyance line through the drain emitter at a preset emitter flow rate. The drain emitter is arranged within the vault assembly, above the percolation region, and below the conveyance opening. The preset emitter flow rate is predetermined such that the flow of the secondary portion of the collected water out of the conveyance line through the drain emitter drains standing water from the conveyance line and the secondary portion of the collected water percolates through the percolation region.

Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method for the extraction of water molecules from the air includes a combination of electrical mechanisms and materials engineering. With the help of hydrophobic and hydrophilic materials on an array of thermally conductive and electrically insulated materials, the extraction of water from the air is significantly increased. A combination of hydrophobic and hydrophilic materials and an electric field gradient moves the water molecules towards the collection system thus speeding up the water formation process. This also inhibits the re evaporation of the water droplets.

Abstract: An automatic air release plunger is provided for unclogging an obstructed drain in a plumbing fixture having undrained wastewater. The plunger includes a handle and a hollow, compressible plunger head. The plunger head is coupled to the handle at the plunger head's proximal end. The plunger head also includes a seal extending from its distal end that is capable of sealing the plunger head to a drain opening of the plumbing fixture. Additionally, the handle and plunger head include automatic air release features that allow air to flow along an air-escape path from inside of the hollow plunger head into a void formed in the interior of the handle, and thereafter into a channel which extends from the proximal end of the plunger head to a gap at a proximal end of the handle where the air is released whenever the plunger head is compressed.

Abstract: The object of this urinal attachment is to prevent men from splashing urine into the bathroom floor whenever they urinate in standing position. The attachment, entirely mounted on the gap between toilet seat and toilet water tank, has a funnel connecting to top end of an extendable tube with a bottom end fastened at and draining urine into the toilet bowl, an arm for manipulating the funnel and the tube, to move the funnel close to crotch area before use or to replace the funnel and the tube into storage position. Many prior art do not have covers; they appear to be extraneous or unsightly devices in the bathroom. This invention is aesthetically pleasing because its novel location allows for a casing that hides the attachment when not in use and that blends well in color, texture and symmetry of conventional toilets.

Abstract: Various implementations include methods and apparatuses for constructing a concrete structure. In one implementation, a structure includes a pre-cast concrete column section and a pre-cast concrete beam section. The column section includes an embedded first assembly with a threaded rod, and the beam section includes an embedded second assembly defining a channel for receiving the threaded rod. Grout is fed through a joint between the column and beam sections into the second assembly to couple the threaded rod with the second assembly. The grout is urged through the joint and the second assembly by gravity and by applying vacuum suction to a grout port defined by the second assembly. The grout port extends between the channel of the second assembly and an external face of the beam section.
