  • Patent number: 10759635
Abstract: Embodiments of this document provides improved safety logic for a mobile container handler of the reach stacker or top pick type. The improved logic involves limitations surrounding the hoist function of the machine subsequent to attaching to a shipping container. This improvement addresses damage to the container spreader caused by abrupt joystick hoist inputs by the operator immediately subsequent to attaching onto a shipping container. Due to space between the spreader arms and spreader body, which is so designed to facilitate movement of the arms inside the spreader body, sudden vertical movement of the spreader results in impact forces being exerted on various parts of the spreader body and spreader arms. These impacts accelerate fatigue leading to premature catastrophic failure of the spreader body and/or spreader arms' structural steel.

Abstract: A catalyst composition for the production of carbon nanotubes (CNT) with controlled morphology is disclosed. The catalyst is represented by formula [(MxMny)Moz][binary metal oxide](100?(x+y+z)), where x is in the range 1 to 25 wt %, y is in the range 0.1 to 20 wt %, and z is in the range 0.0 to 10 wt %. Further M represents either iron or cobalt or nickel along with manganese and molybdenum supported on binary metal oxides comprising of boron, magnesium, aluminum, silicon, calcium, barium, and combination thereof. The CNT morphology can be tailor-made with the plural combination of nature of metal and promoters in appropriate proportions. The process yields the CNT with bulk density in the range of 0.01 to 0.20 g/cc, diameter in the range of 5 to 30 nm and purity greater than 95 wt %.

  • Patent number: 10759665
Abstract: Provided is a dispersion containing high-purity silica particles and a method for producing the same. A first solution containing a silane alkoxide and a second solution containing fine bubbles having an average bubble diameter of 40 nm to 10 ?m are mixed. Thus, the silane alkoxide is hydrolyzed without using an alkaline catalyst in a liquid phase containing the fine bubbles, so that uniform silica particles having an average particle size of 3 to 10 nm are produced. Further, hydrolysis is carried out by adding a hydrolyzable metal compound to the dispersion containing the silica particles in the presence of the fine bubbles and the alkaline catalyst. Thus, the silica particles are grown, so that a uniform silica-based particle dispersion containing particles having an average particle size of more than 10 nm and 300 nm or less is produced.

  • Patent number: 10759666
Abstract: The problem addressed by the invention is that of producing aerogels which have as high and permanent a hydrophobicity as possible and which have a reduced combustibility, that is as low a carbon content as possible, and are simultaneously less rigid and brittle than known systems, i.e. which with reduced combustibility have a high flexibility and high stability at the same time, that is high mechanical load-bearing capacity. Said problem is solved in that the invention provides gels chosen from lyogel or aerogel, which are synthesised from oxide units and [RxSiO(4-x)/2] units, wherein the primary particles have a change of concentration in [RxSiO(4-x)/2] units from the inside to the outside, wherein x can be the same or different and is 1 or 2, and R can be the same or different and is hydrogen or an organic substituted or unsubstituted radical, and wherein the oxide units contain [SiO4/2] units, and a method for producing same.

Abstract: The present invention relates to processes and systems for basic gas, e.g., ammonia, recovery and/or acid-gas separation. In some embodiments, a system for acid gas separation may be integrated with an ammonia abatement cycle employing a high temperature absorber. In some embodiments, a system for acid gas separation may employ a higher temperature absorber due to the lower energy consumption and cost of the integrated ammonia abatement cycle. Advantageously, heat may be recovered from the absorber to power at least a portion of any acid gas desorption in the process. Reverse osmosis or other membranes may be employed.
