Abstract: A flexible frame comprising an electrically conductive hollow cylindrical metallic tube having a plurality of cuts along the longitudinal axis to form a plurality of conductive wires. The wires are equally spaced apart circumferentially along the longitudinal axis of the tube by a gap to electrically isolate the wires. A first electrode is mounted around the circumference of the frame along the longitudinal axis and attached to a first wire of the plurality of wires. A second electrode is mounted around the circumference of the flexible frame along the longitudinal axis at a predetermined distance from the first electrode and attached to a second wire. A non-conductive thermoplastic layer may be secured to the outer surface of the flexible frame between the first and second electrodes to form an insulation layer between the first and second electrodes.

  • Patent number: 10772567
Abstract: Various systems and methods for implementing frequency domain adaptive motion cancellation filters. An example method includes receiving an optical signal representative of a physiological function. The example method further includes receiving a motion signal from an accelerometer. From the motion signal, a known motion spectrum is expressed as a sum of a product of coefficients for each component of the motion spectrum, wherein the coefficients are representative of the strength of the coupling between the motion signal and the optical signal. The example method may further include determining the coefficients of the motion spectrum using gradient descent and generating a decontaminated optical signal based on the optical signal and the motion model spectrum. Other systems, apparatuses, and methods are described.

  • Patent number: 10772569
Abstract: A device and method is provided for the detection of diabetes in a person using pulse palpation signals. The pulse palpation signal is captured from the radial artery of the person using a photo-plethysmograph (PPG) sensor. The PPG signal is then preprocessed by a processor. The preprocessed PPG signal is then analyzed by the processor to detect the peak in the PPG signal. The detected peaks are used to extract a first set of feature parameters. The first of feature parameters are compared with a second set of feature parameters, wherein the second set of feature parameters are extracted from the control group of individuals. Based on the comparison it is detected that the person is one of in normal condition, pre-diabetic condition or a diabetic condition. According to another embodiment, the invention also provides a method to determine the severity index and progression risk of diabetes in the person.

Abstract: For a multi-modal emission tomography system, an improved control system increases the likelihood of optimal image quality, satisfaction of physician goals, and/or avoids repetition in scanning and the corresponding increase in dose burden. The control system is divided into two or more arrangements. One arrangement receives goal information and outputs reconstruction settings and generic scan settings to satisfy the goal information. Another arrangement converts the generic scan settings to emission tomography system-specific scan settings, which are used to detect emissions. The separation of the arrangements allows independent operation so that different system-specific conversions may be used for different systems.

Abstract: A mammographic imaging system is optimized for use with a single fixed size flat panel digital image receptor. It accommodates compression devices (paddles) of varying sizes, and positions them properly in a field of view of the image receptor. When a compression paddle with size smaller than the field of view of the image receptor is used, the compression paddle can be shifted laterally in the direction parallel to the chest wall, so as to facilitate different views of different size breasts, and permit the image receptor to image as much of the desired tissue as possible. An automatic X-ray collimator restricts the X-ray illumination of the breast in accordance with the compression paddle size and location in the field of view. An anti-scatter grid, mounted inside the image receptor enclosure, just below the top cover of the enclosure, can be retracted out of the field of view of the image receptor for use in magnification imaging.

Abstract: The present invention provides an ultrasonic endoscope in which wiring can be reliably fixed to a wire housing space of an ultrasonic-oscillator housing part, and a method of manufacturing the ultrasonic endoscope. According to the present invention, a wire housing space is encapsulated from the outside by sealing a gap formed between an ultrasonic oscillator and an ultrasonic-oscillator housing part with sealing members. With this configuration, the wire housing space can be sufficiently filled with filling agent for fixing wires in the wire housing space. This achieves an ultrasonic endoscope in which the wires can be reliably fixed to the wire housing space of the ultrasonic-oscillator housing part.
