  • Patent number: 10786755
Abstract: Low-retention pre-columns that allow increased injection volumes of solvents chromatographically stronger than the mobile phase and use of solvents with limited solubility in the mobile phase, such as ethyl acetate and MTBE. The system and method also reduces band broadening due to the extra-column effects acting upstream of the analytical column, including band broadening due to the injection process and due to the connecting tubing and fittings between the injection system and the column. A pre-column may also be used as a guard column, thereby minimizing band broadening due to the guard column.

  • Patent number: 10786758
Abstract: A sterilization system with multipurpose degasser has a vortex mixing cylinder, an endcap, and a deionization system. The vortex mixing cylinder is a container that has an inlet an outlet. The inlet and out enable an ozone-water mixture to flow into a mixing chamber within the vortex mixing cylinder. The mixing chamber is designed to facilitate the formation of an ozone saturated ozone-water mixture. The endcap is used to cover an opening of the mixing chamber and is used to expel gasses out of the mixing chamber. The deionization system is an electrical filter that removes ozone particles from the air within the mixing chamber. The deionization system is mounted in between the vortex mixing cylinder and the endcap. Accordingly, gasses must pass through the deionization system prior to being expelled through the endcap. The ozone particles are removed from the gasses being expelled through the endcap, prior to expulsion.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a composite membrane using a selective layer prepared through the interfacial polymerization (support-free interfacial polymerization) on a free interface without a support and, more specifically, to a method for manufacturing a composite membrane comprising a reverse osmotic membrane, which is obtained by preparing a selective layer through a spontaneous reaction of two organic monomers on an interface between two immiscible solutions and allowing the selective layer to adhere to a support. By employing the method for manufacturing a composite membrane having a selective layer prepared through the support-free interfacial polymerization according to the present invention, a high-functional reverse osmotic membrane can be prepared using various supports other than a conventional polysulfone support, thereby extending the application range of the reverse osmotic membrane, which has been restricted due to low chemical resistance of polysulfone.

An outlet part of the interior nozzle is arranged at an upstream side of the ejector more than an outlet part of the exterior nozzle along the axial direction of the ejector.

  • Patent number: 10786797
Abstract: A Fluid Catalytic Cracking process converts heavy crude oil fractions into lighter hydrocarbon products at high temperature and moderate pressure in the presence of a catalyst. During this process, catalyst particles stay entrained in the descending gas stream. An inlet scroll on the cyclone may be used to keep the inlet gas stream and the entrained particles away from the entrance to the gas outlet tube. Refractory material may applied to the interior of the wall of the cyclone to form an abrasion resistant lining to insulate the walls of the cyclone from the gas flow contents. The inlet feed velocity may be used as a predictive factor to determine a wear rate of the cyclones. Thus, lining erosion can be predicted so that the lining can be repaired or replaced during a planned turnaround.
