Abstract: Fastening devices are described. In one example, the fastening devices can be used for a landing string buoyancy solution. The landing string hardware includes a stop collar to be fitted and secured around a drill pipe and stop collar hardware to secure the stop collar together around the drill pipe. The stop collar can be secured at one end of a number of buoyancy modules placed along a longitudinal length of the drill pipe to hold them into place along the drill pipe. The stop collar can be formed from long fiber thermoplastic using extrusion-compression molding. The stop collar hardware includes a bolt having an external thread formed from long fiber thermoplastic and a nut having an internal thread formed from long fiber thermoplastic. Both the stop collar and the stop collar hardware are tested for suitability for the application of holding the buoyancy modules in place under operating conditions.

  • Patent number: 10792908
Abstract: In a method of producing a 3D part using an electrophotography-based additive manufacturing system, a plurality of layers of a powder-based material are developed using at least one electrophotography (EP) engine. The developed layers are transferred to a transfer medium. The layers on the transfer medium are dried by heating the layers without fully fusing the powder-based material to itself using a dryer. This reduces a water content of the layers. The dried layers are heated on the transfer medium to at least a fusion temperature, at which the power-based material fuses together, using a pre-transfusion heater. The dried layers are then transfused together on a build platform using a transfusion assembly to build the part in a layer-by-layer manner.

  • Patent number: 10792912
Abstract: A liquid discharge apparatus includes a rotator, a liquid discharger, a sheet-material position detector, a first signal output device, a second signal output device, and circuitry. The rotator carries a sheet material on a circumferential surface and conveys the sheet material. The liquid discharger discharges liquid onto the sheet material. The sheet-material position detector detects a position of the sheet material. The first signal output device outputs a first signal corresponding to a rotation amount of the rotator. The second signal output device outputs a second signal correlated with a movement amount of the sheet material on the circumferential surface of the rotator. The circuitry determines a discharge start timing of the liquid discharger from a detection result of the sheet-material position detector and the first signal, and generates a discharge timing of the liquid discharger from the second signal.
