Abstract: The present invention enables modification of an intraosseous implant device that is not only biologically non-inert, but can stimulate bone and vascular growth; decrease localized inflammation; and fight local infections. The method of the present invention provides a fiber with any of the following modifications: (1) Nanofiber with PDGF, (2) Nanofiber with PDGF+BMP2, and (3) Nanofiber with BMP2 and Ag. Nanofiber can be modified with other growth factors that have been shown to improve bone growth and maturation—BMP and PDGF being the most common. Nanofiber can be applied on the surface of the implant in several ways. First, a spiral micro-notching can be applied on the implant in the same direction as the threads with the nanofibers embedded into the notches. Second, the entire surface of the implant may be coated with a mesh of nanofibers. Third, it can be a combination of both embedding and notching.

More particularly, a denture attachment is such that a user can detachably fasten a first fastening part coupled to a denture to a second fastening part placed on top of a natural tooth's root or implant fixture by a simple operation, and furthermore, even when occlusal force is continuously applied to the denture, the applied force can be buffered by an elastic rib structure of the attachment itself. Consequently, it is possible to extend not only the lifespan of the attachment, but also the lifespan of the implant fixture or natural tooth's root, and to provide superior performance with a significantly smaller volume than existing attachments, while providing excellent durability.

Abstract: A prosthetic valve assembly includes a radially expandable and compressible annular frame. The frame includes a plurality of interconnected struts, which include a plurality of inner struts and a plurality of outer struts. The inner struts overlap adjacent outer struts at a plurality of pivot joints. Radial expansion or compression of the annular frame causes the inner struts to pivot relative to the outer struts at the pivot joints. The assembly also includes a valvular structure having a plurality of leaflets, each leaflet having a cusp edge portion. The assembly further includes one or more leaflet-supporting cords, each having a plurality of anchoring portions and a plurality of suspended portions, each suspended portion extending between two adjacent anchoring portions. The anchoring portions are affixed to respective anchoring features of the frame adjacent the pivot joints. The cusp edge portions of the leaflets are connected to the suspended portions.

Abstract: A cardiac valve prosthesis, comprising: an expandable valve, support provided with multiple fixing holes, an artificial valve, provided on the valve support, and a thorn structure comprising an expandable thorn support and multiple thorns. The multiple thorns are provided on the thorn support, and are used for, when the cardiac valve prosthesis is implanted into a cardiac chamber, passing through the multiple fixing holes and penetrating tissue in the cardiac chamber so as to fix the valve support. The thorn structure and the valve support are provided independent of each other so that separate manufacturing and processing thereof can be achieved, and the thorn structure and the valve support work together in a non-connected manner so as to facilitate step-by-step load and release, such that the size of a delivery catheter and the length of the valve support can be effectively reduced, the risk of breakage is reduced, and it also facilitates recovery when the cardiac valve prosthesis is not released in place.

Abstract: A quick-connect heart valve prosthesis that can be quickly and easily implanted during a surgical procedure is provided. The heart valve includes a substantially non-expandable, non-compressible prosthetic valve and a plastically-expandable frame, thereby enabling attachment to the annulus without sutures. A small number of guide sutures may be provided for aortic valve orientation. The prosthetic valve may be a commercially available valve with a sewing ring with the frame attached thereto. The frame may expand from a conical deployment shape to a conical expanded shape, and may include web-like struts connected between axially-extending posts. A system and method for deployment includes an integrated handle shaft and balloon catheter. A valve holder is stored with the heart valve and the handle shaft easily attaches thereto to improve valve preparation steps.
