  • Patent number: 10836311
Abstract: An information-presenting device includes an imaging unit, a display unit, an object-recognition unit, an exit location indicator unit and an entry location indicator unit. The imaging unit captures an image of a side view from a host vehicle. The display unit displays an image captured by the imaging unit or a image generated based on the captured image. The object-recognition unit recognizes an object lateral to the host vehicle moving relative to the host vehicle. The exit location indicator unit displays an exit location indicator at or near a location where the object is last displayed in the display unit when the object departs from a display range of the display unit. The entry location indicator unit displays an entry location indicator in a window through which an occupant views outside of the vehicle or in a peripheral region of the window. The entry location indicator indicates a location where the object is predicted to appear.

  • Patent number: 10836313
Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and computer-readable media are disclosed for providing a mixed-reality scene. In response to a pedestrian detection event at a first vehicle, a sequence of mixed-reality images is presented to a driver of a second vehicle. At least one image in the sequence of mixed-reality images results from merging (a) an image captured by a camera aboard the first vehicle and (b) an image captured by a camera aboard the second vehicle. The merging may comprise de-emphasizing an occluded portion of the image captured by the camera aboard the second vehicle and emphasizing an unoccluded portion of the image captured by the camera aboard the first vehicle. The unoccluded portion of the image captured by the camera aboard the first vehicle may provide, in the merged image, visibility of a pedestrian at least partially blocked from a view of the driver of the second vehicle.

  • Patent number: 10836314
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a display system including an image producing unit and an optical system part. The image producing unit produces an image on a display screen by letting a light beam, which eventually forms a virtual image based on the image produced, emerge from the display screen. The optical system part forms a left-eye image and a right-eye image on a user's left and right eyes, respectively, and thereby projects the virtual image toward a user's left and right eyes by reflecting and/or refracting the light beam emerging from the display screen. The optical system part has an image distortion generation factor to make an image distortion of the left-eye image different from an image distortion of the right-eye image.
