Abstract: A computing device and a three-dimensional printer are disclosed. Data associated with reference anatomical properties is accessed by the computing device to generate a set of 3D printing files. The 3D printing files are compiled using the computing device to generate a printing model defining an anatomic orientation corresponding to the reference anatomical properties. Printing parameters and materials for the printing model are configured referencing experimentally derived datasets that define predetermined settings for the printing parameters and materials that are suitable for constructing a synthetic anatomical model with properties related to the reference anatomical properties. A synthetic model is printed using the printing parameters and materials as configured. The printing parameters and materials may be modified as desired subsequent to biomechanical testing of the model.

Abstract: In an embodiment, a system attaches a patient reference array of a computer-assisted surgery system to a patient. The system includes a fixation post having a shaft having proximal and distal ends that are offset from. A threaded fastener is coupled to the shaft at the distal end that rotates relative to the shaft so as to engage internal threads of a pedicle screw, thereby causing the distal end of the shaft to translate in the anchor seat and urge the pedicle screw to transition from an unlocked configuration to a locked configuration. The attachment assembly has an arm that supports the patient reference array, and a coupler supported by the arm. The coupler has a fixation body that defines a recess that receives at least a portion of the fixation post, and an actuator that secures the attachment assembly to the fixation post.

Abstract: Apparatus, system, and methods for utilizing one or more computing devices to stage the movement of teeth during an alignment treatment are disclosed. The computing device receives an electronic representation of the patient's teeth in their initial position and an electronic representation of the teeth a final position for each tooth. A route each tooth will travel to reach its final position is determined, and the teeth are scheduled to move according to a movement pattern. Moreover, the schedule of movement takes into account a maximum rate of tooth movement for each tooth, the path of movement for each tooth, the distance each tooth needs to move, any needed tooth staggering, any needed round-tripping or tooth movement slowing. The invention also includes techniques for determining an optimum number of stages for the treatment based on the schedule of movement.
