Abstract: A new and distinct Corylus avellana plant named ‘Somerset’ characterized by a semi-vigorous, compact growth habit, the production of nuts with thin shells and globular kernels that fall free of the husk at maturity, and resistance to eastern filbert blight caused by the fungus Anisogramma anomala (Peck) E. Müller.
