Abstract: Syringe positioning apparatus and methods are disclosed that provide for automated positioning of a syringe at an axially aligned position on a predetermined axis. The apparatus and methods employ first and second members having opposing surfaces that include first and second ramps, respectively, wherein the first ramp angles upward and away from the second member, and the second ramp angles upward and away from the first member. At least one of the first and second members may be advanceable toward the other by an actuator, wherein the first and second ramps may slidably engage a syringe and thereby elevate the syringe to the axially aligned position on the predetermined axis.

Abstract: There is provided a sealing foil cutting assembly including: a cutting die including a slot through which a sealing tape penetrates, and a penetrating hole formed in a direction perpendicular to the slot; and a punch configured to move up along the penetrating hole of the cutting die to cut the sealing tape to form a sealing foil to be used for sealing an entrance of the container, the punch including: a lid cutting portion configured to form a lid region of the sealing foil; a tab cutting portion having an empty space formed therein to form a tab region protruding from a side surface of the lid of the sealing foil; and a finger member disposed in the empty space of the tab cutting portion, and having an upper end bent toward a surface of the lid cutting portion.

The tubular sizing mandrel has a downstream end segment that merges into a segment with a plurality of radially spaced apart, longitudinally extending flat outer surfaces, the flat surfaces can be bounded laterally (circumferentially) by chamfered edges.

Abstract: A stretch film dispensing apparatus gathers the stretch film into a flattened strap for use in securing an object to a pallet for shipping. The stretch film can be converted into a string or rope by passing it through one or more of a hook, funnel, apparatus, set of gears, or the like to effect stretching and/or twisting of the film into a string or rope. The string or rope is then pressed between two rollers biased together with sufficient force to flatten the string or rope into a flattened strap that maintains its structural integrity to be used as a replacement for plastic or metallic strapping.

Abstract: An overwrap feed station wraps a product with an overwrap material by drawing the overwrap material around the product to form a tube around the product as the product moves through the feed station. The feed station is configurable in one of first and second configurations based upon a desired location of a longitudinal seal to be formed on the tube around the product. A first former is configured to guide the overwrap material through the entrance of the feed station so that longitudinal edges of the overwrap material overlap on a first side of the tube during wrapping of the product. The second former is configured to guide the overwrap material through the entrance of the feed station so that longitudinal edges of the overwrap material overlap on a second side of the tube during wrapping of the product. The second side is transverse to the first side.

Abstract: The applicator assembly delivers a cosmetic, health, or hygiene chemical composition in an active state to the user for a disposable single use. The applicator assembly includes a wrapper, and an insert. The insert holds the chemical composition, and the insert is made of a foam composition compatible with the chemical composition. The system and method for manufacturing the assembly is a web conversion process for the chemical composition and foam composition of the assembly. The system and method for manufacturing the assembly includes a first roll, wrapper material, a second roll, foam material, a foam cutter, a dispenser, a flatbed hot seal packager, a sheet cutter, and an outfeed conveyor.

Abstract: A method and device for thermal activation of tube-shaped packaging sleeves made of cardboard/plastic composite material, wherein a hot gas is applied to the tube-shaped packaging sleeve by a heating device in order to produce the base or the head of the packaging. To achieve even heating for the activation of the contact surfaces with production using simple construction, wherein the energy required for the activation process is used as completely as possible for the heating of the surfaces to be activated, the heating device is placed into effective contact with the surfaces to be activated by the heating device being moved inside the tube-shaped packaging sleeves for activation. The heating device has at least one nozzle element with an outlet opening, the external shape of which nozzle element corresponds to the internal shape of the end of the tube-shaped packaging sleeve to be activated.

Abstract: A packaging machine, comprising a control unit, at least one measurement device and a plurality of work units for different processes. One of the work units is designed as a sealing station which comprises at least one moisture sensor designed as the measurement device which is functionally connected to the control unit and is designed to detect moisture within the sealing station as a time-dependent measured variable during a program sequence of the sealing station. The program sequence may comprise an evacuation process, wherein the control unit is designed to calculate a rate of change in the moisture during the evacuation process of the sealing station. The control unit may abort the evacuation process performed on the sealing station, based on the rate of change, before reaching a target vacuum pressure within the sealing station, immediately or after a specified delay time elapses.

Abstract: An apparatus for forming a package can include a first station for receiving a package from a packaging machine, the package having a trailing seal extending outwardly from a panel of the package. At the first station, the package is received in a forming box, which is rotated about the apparatus. The forming box with the package is rotated to a second station in which a flap folding plate extends to fold the trailing seal and apply a pressure to the panel of the package to flatten the panel of the package against an internal pressure of the package. The forming box then optionally rotates to a third station in which a holding plate maintains the pressure to the panel of the package for an additional dwell time. Finally the forming box rotates to a fourth position in which the package is released from the forming box.

The mouth is for dispensing the consumable liquid upon when opened. The neck portion is in a stored position, tucked inside-out inside the body portion. The tucking results in a continuous fold in the bag. The container also comprises a closure for holding together opposite sides of the bag at the continuous fold to maintain the neck portion of the bag in the stored position, tucked inside-out within the body portion, and to shield the neck portion from external contaminants pending opening or removal of the closure and eversion of the neck portion into a dispensing position.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for forming a metallic dome are provided. More specifically, the present invention relates to a metallic dome that may be used to seal an aerosol container. The metallic dome includes a novel flattened relief panel and an inwardly oriented arch configured to deform in response to pressure within the aerosol container exceeding a predetermined amount. In one embodiment, the flattened relief panel is substantially planar. Optionally, the metallic dome includes at least a first inwardly oriented arch with a first radius of curvature and a second inwardly oriented arch with a second radius of curvature.

Abstract: A recycling tote bag including a multi-compartment assembly formed of a flexible mesh fabric adapted to store recycling items therein. The multi-compartment assembly includes at least two separated compartments for the organization of recyclable materials. The multi-compartment assembly includes a proximal fastening member on the upper edge to provide a user with access to all pockets at once. The tote bag also includes a plurality of distal fastening members each positioned along the distal end of its respective compartment. The distal fastening members allow a user to selectively empty the contents of one or more compartments individually without having to reach into the tote bag. An anchoring assembly includes an attachment member connected to at least one eyelet on the multi-compartment assembly and an anchoring member that mounts the attachment member to a structure thereby securing the recycling tote bag to trees, poles, camping equipment and the like.

Abstract: A conveyor belt system provides a continuous flat support surface for a food item that moves the food item through a food preparation device. The conveyor belt system includes a conveyor belt having a plurality of spaced apart rods and a plurality of slats that are removably attached to the conveyor belt with a rod connection mechanism. The slats also include a lateral connection mechanism for lateral removable attachment to an adjacent slat. The slats are easily assembled and provide enhanced field service and/or replacement capability.

Abstract: A conveyor apparatus (1) can include a control mechanism to permit automatic monitoring of a conveyor belt (7) and automatically actuate adjustment of the belt (7). In some embodiments, at least two sensors (31) can be utilized to detect an operational condition of the belt (7) indicating an undesirable alignment of the belt as the belt moves to convey material. Upon such a detected operational condition, a control mechanism can automatically actuate adjustment of at least one belt support device to adjust motion of the belt (7) in response to the detected operational condition.
