  • Patent number: 10857467
Abstract: A method for operating an entertainment attraction includes receiving an input selection from a guest relating to a characteristic of the attraction. The guest creates their guest profile, or by accesses their previously created profile stored in a memory. The profile may be changed by the current input selection made by the guest, with the changed profile stored for the guest's next use of the attraction. If the attraction is a ride, the guest is assigned to a viewing position, an active prop, a seat, or a vehicle of the attraction. The attraction is then operated with the input selection and/or the guest's profile influencing a characteristic of the attraction as perceived by the guest. A mobile application gameplay may unlock specified game features to change the attraction experience. The attraction may alternatively be a theater or game arcade type of attraction.

  • Patent number: 10857470
Abstract: Systems and methods for algorithmically arranging contests in a lobby interface are provided. A contest management system can generate, execute and maintain a plurality of contests, such as but not limited to, fantasy sports contests. Rank values can be assigned to the contests using pacing parameters of the contests and profile attributes of users who participate in the contests. The pacing parameters, such as registration ratios and registration deadlines, can indicate if a particular contest is on pace to meet a registration threshold prior to their respective registration deadline. The contest management system can dynamically update, responsive to receiving a plurality of registrations from a plurality of users, the rank value of one or more contests responsive to a change in a registration ratio of at least one contest and arrange the plurality of contests in a lobby interface based on the updated rank values.

  • Patent number: 10857473
Abstract: The invention is a novel toy top which appears to defy ordinary performance. The toy top has a top portion, and a bottom portion, and is operable for being spun around with the bottom portion below the upper portion. The top portion is adapted to be rotated by an external rotational force to spin the toy top. The toy top includes means operable for enabling a change in the rotational inertia at a predetermined rate from first value to a second value lower than the first value after the toy top has started to spin, whereby the rotational spinning rate of the toy top initially reduces, and then increases due to the decrease in the rotational inertia of the toy top. Eventually, the toy top monotonically decreases its rotational spin and stops.

  • Patent number: 10857474
Abstract: A toy vehicle launcher translates a substantially vertical activation movement into a substantially lateral movement that launches a toy vehicle. The end of a lever arm used in the activation engages a vertical channel in a toy vehicle engagement mechanism. The vertical channel allows the end of the lever arm to move vertically within the channel with respect to the toy vehicle engagement mechanism as the lever arm rotates and the toy vehicle engagement mechanism moves laterally. The toy vehicle engagement mechanism engages a guide track in a base of the launcher. The guide track defines a lateral path that the toy vehicle engagement mechanism travels when moving between a loading configuration and a launching configuration. Thus, vertical movement from the activation is reduced in the transfer to the lateral toy vehicle launch.

Abstract: A process and system are disclosed for capturing carbon dioxide from a gas stream. The process and system comprise a first stage, in which a metal silicate is reacted with nitric acid to produce a metal nitrate. The metal silicate can be one or more of: an alkaline-earth metal silicate, in particular magnesium or calcium; or an alkali metal silicate, in particular lithium. The process and system also comprise a second stage, in which the metal nitrate from the first stage is heated to a temperature sufficient to decompose the metal nitrate to a metal oxide. The process and system further comprise a third stage, in which the metal oxide is mixed with water to convert the metal oxide to a metal hydroxide solution. The process and system additionally comprise a fourth stage, in which the gas stream is scrubbed with the solution from the third stage such that the metal hydroxide reacts with the carbon dioxide to form a metal carbonate/bicarbonate product.
