Abstract: An electrical stimulation apparatus includes a generator of sequential electrical pulses having predetermined values of parameters that include pulse amplitude, and duration and frequency of the pulses, the generator having one or more separate stimulation channels that independently deliver the pulse sequences to body areas. An electrode for each channel transmits the stimulation pulses and is applied outside the patient's skin at a predetermined region and with a predetermined position relative to the position of another electrode associated to another channel. One or more electrodes are borne by a flexible support element, fastenable in a position related to body anatomy, and are distributed on an extension of the support element according to a predetermined design, together with the pulse generator connected to the one or more electrodes or with two or more pulse generators connected to different electrodes also supported by the support element.

Abstract: The spinal cord stimulation device of this invention is configured for implantation into a patient so as to traverse the dura mater that surrounds the spinal cord. Placing the device in this location provides direct contact between the electrode and the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), in close proximity to the spinal cord. The device has an intradural portion and an extradural portion that compresses and seals the dural membrane between them, securing the device in position and preventing leakage of CSF. The position of the device may be stabilized in relation to the spinal cord by way of a laminoplasty plate, bridging between the device and a vertebra. The device is electronically powered by an implanted pulse generator that produces a spectrum of signals to interrupt or otherwise attenuate transmission of pain mediating neural signals through the spinal cord.

Abstract: An exercise device is provided with a first element disposed at a first side and a second element disposed at a second side. The first element includes gripping features to prevent skidding or sliding of exercise device when first element is abutting a surface. The second element includes sliding features to facilitate sliding of exercise device when second element is abutting the surface. Thus, when an exercise practitioner desires to use the exercise device to prevent movement of a particular body part against the surface, the practitioner places the first element against the surface. Conversely, when the exercise practitioner desires to use the exercise device to facilitate movement of a particular body part against the surface, the practitioner places the second element against the surface. The exercise device further includes an insert which may be removed and heated or cooled to provide heating or cooling pad/pack to a body part.
