Publication number: 20210101354Abstract: A cardboard box assembly device, that folds four flaps provided at edges of an opening in a cardboard box to surround the opening, is disclosed. The cardboard box assembly device includes a folding unit, a pushing unit, and a drive unit. The folding unit folds each of the four flaps in a prescribed sequence and closes the opening. The pushing unit pushes one of the four flaps, that is folded last, inward into the cardboard box as a locking flap, and overlaps the locking flap onto the other flaps. The drive unit contacts the cardboard box and imparts a prescribed displacement to the cardboard box. Parts that engage with one another are formed between the locking flap and at least one of the other flaps. The drive unit moves the locking flap relative to the other flaps due to the displacement when the pushing unit pushes the locking flap.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 28, 2020Publication date: April 8, 2021Inventors: Tatsuya IWASA, Satoshi NISHITSUJI, Tatsuya ARIMATSU, Satoshi TATSUKAWA

Publication number: 20210101359Abstract: Methods for making tip bonded formed laminates are made from multiple layers of formed substrates made from films which are bonded together at the tips of their formed protrusions. Tip bonded laminates can be designed with greater resistance to bending, improved resilience to compression, and can be patterned for directionally oriented responses to tensile loads. Also, tip bonded formed laminates made from multiple layers of formed substrates can use their layered structure to provide better aesthetics as well as better physical properties such as improved puncture resistance. Tip bonded formed laminates can be configured with thicker portions and designed patterns, which are appealing to consumers. A tip bonded formed laminate can be made from two or more formed substrates and can be used instead of a single, thick, unformed, substrate, so the laminate can use about the same amount of material, while still providing surprising functional benefits.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 16, 2020Publication date: April 8, 2021Inventors: Daniel Charles PECK, John Brian STRUBE, Matthew William WALDRON
