Abstract: A combination sod cutting and sprinkler cap removal tool includes a socket having a cavity and outer surface extending between proximal and distal ends, a cutting means disposed circumferentially about the distal end, an internal gear formed within the cavity, and a removable rotating means insertable into the cavity and configured to rotatably engage and be axially arrested by the internal gear whether the rotating means is inserted through the proximal end or the distal end. Interior gear teeth of the internal gear have both inner and outer engagement surfaces. When inserted through the proximal end, the rotating means engages the outer engagement surfaces to configure the distal end of the tool for cutting sod by rotation of the cutting means. When the rotating means engages the internal gear through the distal end, the proximal end of the tool is configured for removing a sprinkler cap by engaging the inner engagement surfaces with gripping surfaces of the cap.

Abstract: A grapevine soil-cleaning device and engineering machinery installed with the soil-cleaning device, comprising an air blower (4), an air vent direction reversal device, a soil-retaining device, an angular sensor (7) and a controller (19). The controller (19) is connected to the air blower (4), the angular sensor (7), the air vent direction reversal device and the soil-retaining device respectively. The present device achieves non-contact soil cleaning by blowing air, and has the advantages of no harmful impact on buds and branches, one-time cleaning, and highly efficient soil cleaning. The air vent direction reversal device may achieve a consistent air-blowing direction when the grapevine soil-cleaning device moves among rows of the grapevine. The soil-retaining device may hold back the blown soil and reduce the displacement distance of the blown soil.

Abstract: A method of controlling a mower implement includes sensing a separation distance between the mower implement and an adjacent windrow with an outboard distance sensor. The sensed separation distance is then compared to a defined separation target. The computing device indicates that a course of the mower implement is on-target when the separation distance is approximately equal to the defined separation target. The computing device indicates that the course of the mower implement is drifting in a first direction when the separation distance is less than the defined separation target and greater than zero. An offset distance is sensed between the mower implement and a standing crop edge. The computing device indicates that the course of the mower implement is drifting in a second direction when both the separation distance and the offset distance are substantially equal to zero.
