Abstract: An active carbon molded body that comprises a plurality of active carbon granules that are formed from aggregates of active carbon particles. The active carbon granules include a fibrous granulation binder. The active carbon molded body is formed as a result of the plurality of active carbon granules being aggregated by means of the fibrous granulation binder in the active carbon granules. The present invention is also an active carbon molded body production method in which active carbon granules that have been formed by aggregating active carbon particles by means of a fibrous binder are molded by simultaneous application of heat and pressure without separate addition of a molding binder. The present invention thereby provides: an active carbon molded body that has high purification capacity and good production efficiency; and a production method for the active carbon molded body.

Abstract: A method is useful for automated detection of antibodies in a liquid biological sample with an antigen chip having antigen spots which are applied thereon and which have an identical, common dye. The antigen spots form respective antigen spot sets which form corresponding respective, regular antigen spot patterns. Furthermore, reference spots comprising the identical dye are applied, and form a reference spot set which forms a regular reference pattern. The reference pattern differs with respect to its regularity from the antigen spot patterns. Through a first image information item which represents a color of the reference spots and of the antigen spots due to the identical, first dye and through a second image information item which represents a potential color of the antigen spots due to a second dye after an incubation, binding of antibodies of the biological sample to respective antigen types is then determined by image processing.

Abstract: Roller packages (IO) for grinding devices (70), comprising a first roller (II), which is maintained by at least one first bearing body (13), and a second roller (12), which is maintained by at least one second bearing body (14). The first bearing body (13) and the second bearing body (14) are prestressed against each other and comprise stop elements (17, 19) with stop surfaces (18, 20), the contact of which counteracts a contact of the rollers (II, 12). The rotational position of the first stop element (17) determines the minimum width of the grinding gap. Also disclosed are grinding devices (70), methods for operating a roller group (IO) and methods for determining the radial force acting between the rollers (II, 12) of a roller group (IO).

Abstract: According to the invention, there is provided a process for the beneficiation of coal discards by increasing calorific value and carbon content while removing inert mineral matter and sulphur compounds. The process involves the pretreatment of wash water with a non-ionic kinetically energized surface-active agent and the admixture with a fixed mass of raw coal discard to enhance hydrophobicity and carboniferous particle agglomeration. Processing of the resulting suspension though a dedicated series of spiral separators and high frequency, resonance sieves reliably reduces excessive levels of mineral ash and sulphur compounds.
