Abstract: A self-propelled work vehicle is provided with systems and methods for communicating the presence of nearby objects to an operator. A horizontally rotatable machine frame supports a work implement which is further vertically rotatable. Various object sensors are each configured to generate object signals representative of detected objects in respective fields of vision. A controller determines a working area for the work vehicle, corresponding at least to a swing radius of the machine frame and optionally further to a swing radius of the work implement at a given orientation and/or angle of rotation. The controller determines positions of each detected object relative to the machine frame based on the object signals and known positions of the respective object sensors, and generates output signals based on the determined object positions with respect to the working area. Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an irrigation system for irrigating a plurality of plants growing in growing media. The system includes a movable grow table for supporting and displacing the plants and a gravity irrigation device which is coupled to the movable grow table and displaceable therewith. The gravity irrigation device includes a reservoir which is coupled to the movable grow table, a main header in fluid communication with an outlet of the reservoir which is configured to receive a flow of water therefrom, as well as a plurality of microtubes which extends from a plurality of header outlets. The microtubes are configured to receive a head-pressurized flow of water from the main header to evenly irrigate the plants. A method for irrigating a plurality of plants growing in growing media is also described.

Abstract: Novel autonomous self-watering containers for growing plants and soil and hydrogel mixture therefor. The novel self-watering containers are filled with the specific soil and hydrogel mixture and filled with water. The soil and hydrogel mixture absorbs the water and slowly releases it to water the plants planted in the mixture over the next several weeks, requiring no supervision, interaction, or maintenance with the container. The self-watering container and soil and hydrogel mixture save water and labor costs associated with the required frequent maintenance of current plant growing systems.

Abstract: A pollination machine (10) with improved cross-pollination abilities may feature a plurality of pollen recirculation chambers with an air circulation manifold (130A, 131A, 133A, etc.) connecting them in a manner that air in one chamber (30A), together with associated pollen, is removed from the one chamber and redirected to a second (30B), and so on until air is returned to the first (30A). The chambers' initial roller entrances (118) will serve to trip blossoms and release both pistol and pollen but a current in the air circulation manifold contains and will deposit foreign pollen grains on the plants' stigmas before they are inundated by the blossoms' own pollen. The air current also collects the plants' pollen and carries it to other chambers so that other plants will be cross-pollinated.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to ‘Jedae mandarin’, a new citrus variety of early-ripening satsuma mandarin. The branch buds of C. unshiu Marc. cv. Miyagawa-wase, an early-maturing satsuma mandarin, underwent gamma irradiation and subsequent grafting for asexual propagation. As a result, the ‘Jedae mandarin’, a novel variety of citrus plant, showed uneven peels of fruits and changes in flavonoid content, compared to C. unshiu Marc. cv. Miyagawa-wase, although it exhibited characteristics very similar to those of C. unshiu Marc. cv. Miyagawa-wase in terms of blooming, fruit-bearing, sugar content, acidity, etc. Thus, ‘Jedae mandarin’ may be used as a new variety with high economic value.
