Publication number: 20210386057Abstract: Described are methods of grain production with field conditioned pollen. A method of the present invention includes growing one or more designated female plants that include both female and male components, collecting fresh pollen from designated male plants from a different genetic background, and subjecting the fresh pollen to field conditions, which may regulate pollen moisture content. The field conditioning conditions may include a relative humidity ranging from about 50% to about 100%, a temperature ranging from about ?10-10° C., and an air pressure ranging from about 15 kPa to about 150 kPa. These conditions may result in pollen having a moisture content of about 40% to about 58%. The one or more designated female plants are intentionally cross-pollinated with the field conditioned pollen and then grown to maturity such that the grain may be harvested therefrom. Also provided is a method of preventing undesirable pollination in grain production.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 27, 2021Publication date: December 16, 2021Applicant: Accelerated Ag Technologies, LLCInventors: Jason Cope, George Singletary, Todd Krone, Sara Katherine Etter

An inlet valve of the freeze-drying chamber and a hopper valve may both be opened to provide a pathway between the hopper and the chamber whilst the hopper and chamber are maintained in an evacuated condition. The hopper may include an internal shell within an external shell with an evacuation port for evacuation a cavity between the shells. A hopper valve allows the supply of product to the freeze dryer via a hopper port. Product may be loaded into a hopper, coupled with the inlet of the freeze-drying chamber, evacuated, a hopper valve opened to supply product to the freeze-drying chamber, and the product conveyed through the freeze-drying chamber.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 10, 2019Publication date: December 16, 2021Applicant: Freeze Dried Foods New Zealand LimitedInventors: Alastair James Woodburn GASS, Austen Frank CHITTOCK, Brian Donald EDWARDS

Publication number: 20210386101Abstract: In some aspects, the present disclosure provides an advantageous process for preparing meat curing agents. In some embodiments, a process for continuous conversion of plant-based nitrates to nitrites includes: inoculating a source material liquid comprised of nitrates with a bacterial culture capable of converting nitrates to nitrites; when nitrites in the source material liquid reach a desired concentration, harvesting a first harvest volume of the source material liquid at a harvest rate; and replenishing the harvested volume of the source material liquid with source material liquid comprising additional nitrates at a feed rate, wherein the harvest rate is higher than the feed rate.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 15, 2021Publication date: December 16, 2021Inventors: Pavan Kumar Soma, Kelly Cannon
