Abstract: A packaging system includes a plurality of feed conveyors configured to carry a plurality of carton units thereon and a stacking station. The stacking station includes a stacking conveyor and a plurality of lifting assemblies. Each lifting assembly of the plurality of lifting assemblies is selectively moveable over the stacking conveyor and a corresponding feed conveyor of the plurality of feed conveyors. The packaging system further includes a controller communicatively coupled to the stacking conveyor and the plurality of lifting assemblies. The controller is configured to control a first lifting assembly of the plurality of lifting assemblies to retrieve a first carton unit from a first feed conveyor of the plurality of feed conveyors and control the first lifting assembly to deposit the first carton unit on the stacking conveyor in a stacked relationship with a second carton unit.

Abstract: A part packing system for packing a part in an elongated bag includes a bag holding machine including a first bag gripper mechanism, a second bag gripper mechanism, and an air nozzle. The first bag gripper mechanism is configured to hold a first end of the elongated bag. The first bag gripper mechanism opens the first end of the elongated bag. The second bag gripper mechanism is configured to hold a second end of the elongated bag. The second bag gripper mechanism closes the second end of the elongated bag. The air nozzle is located proximate to the first bag gripper mechanism. The air nozzle is configured to inflate the elongated bag with an airflow directed into the first end of the elongated bag. The first bag gripper mechanism holds the inflated elongated bag with the first end open to receive the part in the open first end while the air nozzle directs the airflow into the elongated bag.

Abstract: A bag-making and packaging machine works with a weighing machine installed upstream to manufacture bags containing article discharged from the weighing machine. The bag-making and packaging machine includes a forming unit, a transverse sealing unit, a conveyance unit, a communication unit, and a control unit. The communication unit receives from the weighing machine a signal relating to weighing and discharge of the article. The control unit has a disposal mode for disposing of the article in the weighing machine. When changing from a normal production mode to the disposal mode, the control unit performs control to skip, among operations in the normal production mode, the operation of the transverse sealing unit implemented in conjunction with the signal received by the communication unit from the weighing machine.

Abstract: Disclosed are a method and a device (1) used to package articles into printed packaging blanks (2). In the method, a plurality of packaging blanks are first positioned in a magazine (4) and subsequently extracted from the magazine (4). Subsequently, articles are brought together with the packaging blanks (2) extracted from the magazine (4) such that a particular packaging blank (2) hereby forms a particular packaging or a particular component of a particular packaging for in each instance at least one article. It is moreover provided that the packaging blanks (2) are printed onto, with the printing onto a packaging blank (2) being carried out temporally after the positioning of the packaging blank (2) in the magazine (4) and temporally before the particular bringing together of the packaging blank (2) with the particular at least one article. Abstract: An apparatus and method for configuring product packaging and removal of the packaging from a product is disclosed. The labeled product packaging includes a shrink wrap packaging adapted for sealing around a product. A predefined point of failure is configured in the packaging and includes a failure mode for when pulled in at least one direction. A label is sealed to the packaging and adhered to the predefined point of failure in covering relation over the predefined point of failure. Lifting the label from the packaging tears open the packaging starting at the predefined point of failure so the product can be removed from the packaging.

Abstract: A container for feeding a patient includes a deformable receptacle having a cavity for holding a flowable food product and a rigid cover attachable to the upper end of the deformable receptacle. The rigid cover may have a male feeding tube connector that is uniquely connectable to a female feeding tube connector of a feeding tube or may have a female feeding tube connector that is uniquely connectable to a male feeding tube connector of a syringe. With the male and female feeding tube connectors connected, the deformable receptacle and the feeding tube or syringe are in fluid tight fluid communication to allow the flowable food product to be forced out of the opening of the deformable receptacle and into the feeding tube or syringe when the deformable receptacle is squeezed.

Abstract: A system for opening a box having a body part and a lid, and for removing one or more food items from the box, includes a first tool for attaching to the body part, and a second tool for attaching to a surface of the lid at one or more points of contact and applying at each of the one or more points of contact a force to the lid having a component in a direction normal to the surface at the point of contact. Each of the first tool and the second tool is powered. The first tool and the second tool are arranged for orienting and/or displacing the lid concerning the body part to open the box with the lid, and moving and/or orienting the body part to remove the one or more food items from the box.

Abstract: A method for filling a container configured to store spirits or drink mixers therein. The method includes: arranging the container on a filling line configured to fill 750 ml glass containers, the container is a polymeric container having a capacity of at least 1 liter, the container including: a finish defining an opening, a body, a neck and a shoulder between the finish the body, and a base including a standing surface; and filling the container with a spirit or drink mixer using equipment set to fill 750 ml glass spirits containers. The container has a maximum outer diameter between about 2.5 inches and about 3.5 inches. The finish has an inner diameter at the opening of between about 0.65 inches to about 0.85 inches, thereby configuring the finish to accept a pour spout of a 750 ml glass spirits container.

The base comprises two opposed major walls and two longitudinal side walls opposed to each other. The first side portion and a second side portion are integrally formed with the base. The two side portions are respectively connected to the base along the longitudinal direction, and each side portion comprises two opposed side panels, two tapered corner portions opposed to each other, and a closure in a transverse direction. Each side panel is connected to the adjacent major wall along a transverse line, and the two opposed side panels are jointed to form the closure. At least one of the side portions may be substantially compacted and form a substantially flat transverse side wall.

Abstract: A child resistant pill container includes a locking feature, which can be unlocked using a knob. The knob can be a rotatable knob or a slide knob. The knob will be fixed or locked in place until being released/unlocked by squeezing an actuator. The squeeze action allows the knob to move out of its fixed position and move by either rotation or linearly sliding. The motion of the knob moves a lock bar from its locked position to an unlocked position. While the lock bar is in the unlocked position, one or more of the lids can be unlatched and lifted from their closed position to an open position. When the knob is released, a spring action returns the knob back to the fixed (locked) position, moving the lock bar back into the locked position, and any lids still in the closed position are again locked in place.

The heat sealable coating is applied to the article of paper by a printing press. As the printing press applies the heat sealable coating to the article of paper, the paper recyclable heat sealable bag may be wound into a master roll with a plurality of paper recyclable heat sealable bags. The master roll is fed into an automatic packaging system which fills the bags with a product from at least one of a top edge and a side edge of the paper recyclable heat sealable bags. The paper recyclable heat sealable bag has certain perforations to remove the paper recyclable heat sealable bag more easily from the master roll and sealed with a heat sealer.

In particular, the films include a machine direction linear tear layer that comprises from 60 percent to 95 percent ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer (EVOH) and from 5 percent to 40 percent polyethylene. The blister card or strip is inserted into the outer package or sleeve and locks immediately without having to further process the outer package or the blister card or strip. The blister card or strip includes a formable, pliable sheet material, into which one or more individual cavities or blisters are formed. The separated cavities are loaded with product and sealed with one or more layers of puncturable or tearable sheet material, such as aluminum foil. Abstract: Systems and methods for sanitizing, cleaning, and deodorizing a garbage can are provided. The sanitization product can include a disposable pad covered in a solution that is inserted into indoor or outdoor garbage cans. The solution may be configured to minimize and prevent the spread of bacteria and other germs within a garbage can, which routinely occurs due to spilling of food, liquids, and other garbage within the can. Additionally, the pad may be made of an absorbable material so that any liquids that enter a garbage can can immediately be absorbed. Different solutions may be applied to the product depending on where the pad will be used. Additionally, a kit may be provided that includes multiple disposable pads. Manual participation is not needed in the material handling process, therefore material handling efficiency can be improved; besides, by configuring different conveyor lines corresponding to different workstations, the material conveying of each workstation does not affect each other, and the workstation with low material processing efficiency does not cause effect on other workstations, thereby facilitating to improve overall work efficiency of all workstations.

Abstract: For tuning a vibrating conveyor having an electric vibrator that drives a vibration element connected to a conveying unit of the vibrating conveyor for oscillating the conveying unit to a mechanical resonance frequency fR of the vibrating conveyor, an electric drive unit varies the frequency fv of a AC drive voltage (uv) in a given frequency range, measures a current consumption of the electric vibrator unit for different applied frequencies fv of the AC drive voltage (uv) and using the frequency fv with the lowest current consumption of the electric vibrator unit as frequency fv of the AC drive voltage (uv) for operating the vibrating conveyor.

Abstract: A material processing apparatus has a discharge conveyor that is coupled to the body of the apparatus so that it can pivot with respect to the body and be raised vertically with respect to the body. The coupling mechanism allows the pivoting and lifting of the conveyor to be performed by the same actuators. The discharge conveyor can be raised into an access state in which a transfer conveyor can be removed from the body.

Abstract: A system (500) for distributing a stream of articles (100) at a fix pitch (P) includes a belt assembly (250) with belt segments (252) carrying a stream of articles (100), a sensor assembly (510) with sensors (512), a control system (550) interfacing with the belt assembly (250) and the sensor assembly (510), wherein the sensor assembly (510) provides measurements of initial positions of each article of the stream of articles (100) and transmits the measurements to the control system (550), wherein the control system (550) utilizes the measurements to determine deficits of the initial positions to final positions for each article based on a predefined pitch value (P), and wherein the control system (550) controls a speed of the plurality of belt segments (252) to provide the final positions for each article according to the predefined pitch value (P).
