Abstract: Blood perfusion difficulty complication(s) may be predicted based on biomarker measurements obtained before a surgery and/or during the surgery via one or more sensing systems. For example, a computing system may monitor the patient biomarker(s) including core body temperature, peripheral temperature, blood sugar level, hydration state data, and/or oxygen saturation data. Based on the prediction, the computing system may generate a control signal configured to alter a matter in which a surgical cutting and stapling device and/or a surgical energy operate, to adjust a surgical procedure plan, to adjust a surgical instrument selection, indicate a probability of the blood perfusion difficulty complication, and/or to indicate a suggested adjustment to surgical procedure plan, surgical approach, and/or surgical instrument selection.

Abstract: A minimally invasive surgery device includes a guide tube with a highly-curved distal end housed within a channel. The highly-curved distal end is configured with a curvature optimized for improved triangulation in a tissue workspace. The highly-curved distal end of the guide tube extends from a curved channel inside an endoscopic device on a surgical robot. The combination of the curved channel and the highly-curved distal end of the guide tube provides improved maneuverability in the workspace. In some embodiments, the highly-curved distal end includes nitinol and shapeset to a desired curvature. The highly-curved distal ends may be curved to achieve a stable shape with repeatable performance. In some embodiments, each first and second guide tube includes a double-curvature configuration.

The angled struts (150) are configured such that, in response to a diameter of the upstream anchor portion (56UF) changing by an absolute amount, an absolute change in a diameter of the upstream end of the intermediate portion (23F) is less than the absolute amount by which the diameter of the upstream anchor portion (56 UF) changes. Other applications are also described.

Abstract: Proposed is an intraocular lens capable of improving a change in refractive power of the lens by receiving transferred movement of the zonule of Zinn. The present invention is an intraocular lens inserted into the capsular sac, the intraocular lens consisting of an optic portion and a haptic portion, wherein the optic portion includes a front membrane, a rear membrane, and an internal space. The shape of the optic portion changes by the haptic portion receiving transferred external movement. The optic portion has additional regulatory power due to a curvature difference between the inner surfaces of the front membrane and the rear membrane, and thus provides a lens having a wide range of refractive power.
