Abstract: A method of managing insulin includes receiving blood glucose measurements on a computing device from a glucometer. The blood glucose measurements are separated by a time interval. The method includes determining, by the computing device, an insulin dose rate based on the blood glucose measurements and determining a blood glucose drop rate based on the blood glucose measurements and the time interval. The method also includes determining a blood glucose percentage drop based on the blood glucose measurements. The method includes decreasing the time interval between blood glucose measurements by the glucometer when the blood glucose drop rate is greater than a threshold drop rate, and decreasing the time interval between blood glucose measurements by the glucometer when the blood glucose percentage drop is greater than a threshold percentage drop.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a glucose detecting complex and a contact lens-type sensor comprising the same for detecting glucose in tears. The contact lens-type sensor for detecting glucose according to the present invention includes a complex in which glucose oxidase is coupled to cerium oxide nanoparticles. Such a configuration allows the visualization of changes in glucose concentrations and the quantitative measured of glucose in a simpler and more economical way. In addition, glucose concentrations can be monitored in real time through a non-invasive method by measuring the concentration of glucose in tears rather than in blood in comparison with the conventional blood glucose measurement method. Therefore, the present invention can be widely applied in the technical field for the early diagnosis and prevention of diabetes.

Abstract: A method for measuring a neural response to a stimulus. Measurement circuitry is settled prior to a stimulus, by connecting a sense electrode to the measurement circuitry to allow the measurement circuitry to settle towards a bio-electrically defined steady state. Charge is recovered on stimulus electrodes by short circuiting the stimulus electrodes to each other. An electrical stimulus is then applied from the stimulus electrodes to neural tissue, while keeping the sense electrode disconnected from the measurement circuitry. After the stimulus, a delay is imposed during which the stimulus electrodes are open circuited and the sense electrode is disconnected from the measurement circuitry and from the stimulus electrodes. After the delay, a neural response signal present at the sense electrode is measured by connecting the sense electrode to the measurement circuitry.

The deep neural network has the capability of characterizing processing of human brain cortical neurons for external stimulus (images, sounds, etc.) information. By inputting massive sound stimuli into the deep neural network, a sound mode which causes model-estimated sleep electroencephalograph to be optimal can be found, the sound mode is applied to a real human body, and the intensity of corresponding sleep waves of the human body in different sleep stages is enhanced through closed-loop optimization so as to realize the purpose of regulating sleep. The present invention mainly aims at solving the technical problem of how to select and optimize, when a sound stimulus means (music, speech, natural sounds, white/colored noise, etc.) is used to assist in human sleep.

The processor periodically takes a measurement from the sensor, converts the measurement to a data record, and stores the data record in the memory. Upon receipt of a signal from another device, the processor retrieves at least a portion of the data record, converts the retrieved portion of the data record to a vital-sign signal, and causes the transmitter to transmit the vital-sign signal to the other device.

Abstract: In some examples, a device includes processing circuitry configured to determine a set of correlation coefficient values for first and second physiological parameters. The processing circuitry is further configured to determine a metric of the correlation coefficient values for a first plurality of bins and for a second plurality of bins, wherein each bin of the first plurality has a first bin parameter and each bin of the second plurality of bins has a second bin parameter different than the first bin parameter. The processing circuitry is also configured to determine a composite estimate of a limit of autoregulation of the patient based on the metric for the first plurality of bins and the metric for the second plurality of bins. The processing circuitry is configured to determine an autoregulation status based on the composite estimate and output, for display via the display, an indication of the autoregulation status.

Abstract: Classification of heartbeats based on intracardiac and body surface electrocardiogram (ECG) signals are provided. Intracardiac ECG (IC-ECG) signals and body surface ECG (BS-ECG) signals are processed to perform heartbeat classifications. A BS annotation of BS-ECG signals reflective of a sensed heartbeat is defined, the BS annotation including a BS annotation time value. IC annotations of IC-ECG signals which reflect atrial-activity or ventricular activity of the sensed heartbeat are also defined, each IC annotation including an IC annotation time value. The IC-ECG signals are discriminated as A-activity or V-activity and IC annotations are designated as IC-A annotations or IC-V annotations, respectively. A respective A/V time sequence comparison of IC annotations reflective of the sensed heartbeat is made with one or more time sequence templates for heartbeat classification.

Abstract: For position sensors, e.g., a fiber-based system, that build a shape of an elongated member, such as a catheter, using a sequence of small orientation measurements, a small error in orientation at the proximal end of the sensor will cause large error in position at distal points on the fiber. Exemplary methods and systems are disclosed, which may provide full or partial registration along the length of the sensor to reduce the influence of the measurement error. Additional examples are directed to applying selective filtering at a proximal end of the elongated member to provide a more stable base for distal measurements and thereby reducing the influence of measurement errors.
