Abstract: In one aspect, a method for determining soil clods within a field includes receiving one or more images depicting an imaged portion of an agricultural field. The method also includes classifying a portion of the plurality of pixels that are associated with soil within the imaged portion of the field as soil pixels with each soil pixel being associated with a respective pixel height. The method also includes generating a first ray from a local maximum in a first direction and a second ray from the local maximum in a second direction that is perpendicular to the first ray until opposing endpoints are determined based on a detected edge condition. Lastly, the method includes determining whether a soil clod based at least in part the first ray or the second ray of the candidate soil clod.

Abstract: An agricultural implement can be used to engage a field. Such engagement can be in a number of ways, including, but not limited to, ground engaging, application, drilling, precision agriculture, spreading, spraying, broadcasting, or the like. A number of row units with the engaging tools are positioned along a toolbar extending transversely to the direction of travel. To more easily transport the implement, and to comply with transportation rules and regulations, the toolbar can be folded about wing sections. This can be in multiple directions, including rotationally forward, rotationally vertical, and translationally rearward, which reduces the width of the implement and also minimizes the longitudinal distance between a hitch connecting the implement to a tow vehicle and the transport wheels of the implement.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for preparation of soybean leaves having a high content of an isoflavone derivative in a dark condition and soybean leaves having a high content of an isoflavone derivative prepared thereby. Specifically, treatment of a soybean plant 20 days to 60 days after seeding with a predetermined concentration of ethylene in a dark condition was found to accumulate higher concentrations of isoflavone derivatives in soybean leaves than treatment with ethephon in a light condition, which requires a high level of energy. Therefore, when used, the method of the present invention can economically and quickly prepare soybean leaves having a very high content of isoflavones, and the soybean leaves having a high content of isoflavone derivatives, an extract of the soybean leaves, and a fraction of the extract can be advantageously used as a food and medicine material against diseases caused by estrogen unbalance and deficient antioxidant activity.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a rain and sun shield device for pet crates/cages that prevents rainwater from accumulating inside the crates. More specifically, the rain and sun shield device includes multiple lip structures designed to be mounted on the top surface of the crate, such that the lip structures deflect any rainwater pouring over the crate and prevent any rainwater from entering inside the crate. The rain and sun shield device can be retrofitted to existing animal crate/cage designs or incorporated into the manufacturing of new models to provide protection against rainwater and sunlight. The device protects pets from the elements while being kept in a crate or cage placed in outdoor settings or while being transported in the bed of a pickup truck. The device ensures that pets remain safe, shaded, and dry.
