Abstract: An apparatus arranged to form a continuous tobacco rod of a smoking article, comprises a conveyor conveying a tobacco material stream in a conveyance direction, and a wrapping material supply arrangement advancing a web of wrapping material in the conveyance direction adjacent to the tobacco material stream. A constriction member receives the tobacco material stream at an inlet end and reduces a cross-sectional area of the tobacco material stream. The reduced-area tobacco material stream exits the constriction member at an exit end, and the wrapping material web wraps about the reduced-area tobacco material stream exiting the exit end. An additive source supplies an additive material to the reduced-area tobacco material stream through a dispensing port disposed about the exit end of the constriction member, prior to the reduced-area tobacco material stream being wrapped by the wrapping material web to form the continuous tobacco rod.

Abstract: A garment in one aspect of the present disclosure includes an outer fabric and a lining fabric. The outer fabric forms a front body part and a back body part. The front body part includes a first opening to be situated in a center portion of the front body part in a width direction of the garment when the garment is worn over a wearer. The first opening extends in a length direction of the garment. The lining fabric is attached to the outer fabric so as to form an internal space between the lining fabric and the outer fabric. The internal space is formed (i) to accommodate a fan in the internal space and (ii) to let an airflow generated by the fan pass through the internal space.

Abstract: The disclosure provides a compression garment (68) formed of a stretchable fabric (10) with a uniform, i.e. constant, elasticity but in which the compression garment provides different degrees of garment compression when worn by a wearer due to geometric cuts (6, 8) made to the fabric to form one or more fabric panels (2, 4) that extend the entire length of the circumferential portion (60) of the garment. The circumferential portion surrounds a wearer's body part (66) and includes degrees of compression that vary at different locations (12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24, 26), along the axial direction (62). The geometric cuts produce non-linear edges (6A, 6B, 8A, 8B) and are made to provide different circumferential lengths (12F, 14F, 16F, 18F, 20F, 22F, 24F, 26F) of fabric that produce desired compression levels at various axial locations, and are calculated using formulas and algorithms that take into account various factors relating to the fabric and the garment being formed.

Abstract: The inventive glove provides a work glove that detects the presence of AC voltage without compromising its usability as a work glove. Embodiments of the inventive glove include monopole aerials extending into the fingers of the glove. A thin flexible dielectric layer sits between the aerials and inside of the glove, acting as an electrical barrier between the aerials and the user's hand. The aerials are connected to conventional voltage detector circuitry on a circuit board located on the back of the glove. The circuit board is grounded to the user's wrist, which enhances the circuitry's ability to detect the presence of nearby AC voltage at a safe distance.
