  • Patent number: 11546196
Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for generating a secure long training field (LTF). In some implementations, the secure LTF may include a randomized bit sequence that is difficult, if not impossible, to replicate by any device other than the transmitting device and the intended receiving device. For example, the transmitting device may use a block cipher or stream cipher to generate a pseudorandom bit sequence and may select a subset of bits of the pseudorandom bit sequence to be mapped to a sequence of modulation symbols representing an LTF symbol of the secure LTF. More specifically, each of the modulation symbols is mapped to a respective one of a number of subcarriers spanning a bandwidth of the secure LTF. The transmitting device may further transmit a physical layer convergence protocol (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU) that includes the secure LTF to the receiving device.

  • Patent number: 11546201
Abstract: An improved way is disclosed for recovering a message by merging two corrupted copies of the message in 5G or 6G. Message faults, from noise or interference, distort the modulation of one or more message elements. In a modulation scheme of amplitude-modulated quadrature (I and Q) signals, noise can change the amplitude values, which results in demodulation faults. Often the reception is so poor that a retransmission of the message is also faulted. Nevertheless, the receiver can recover the correct message by measuring a modulation quality of each message element, and assembling a merged message from the best-quality message elements of the two copies. The modulation quality depends on the message element's amplitude versus the calibrated amplitude levels of the modulation scheme. By selecting the individual message elements from the two faulted copies, based on the modulation quality, users can obtain better reception at longer distances while expending less power.

Abstract: A Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) system reads, from a data bus coupled to the NFV system, Virtual Network Function (VNF) parameters published to the data bus by a new VNF. The NFV system publishes, to the data bus based on the VNF parameters, instructions to multiple components of the NFV system defining which VNF capabilities of the new VNF are to be managed, controlled, or monitored by which of the multiple NFV system components. The multiple components of the NFV system control, manage, or monitor the new VNF based on the published instructions. The data bus can include a Data Movement as a Platform (DMaaP) system that publishes and subscribes to streams of records.

Abstract: Examples disclosed herein relate to performing an action based on an advertisement indicator is present in a network packet. In one example, a network packet identified by a network infrastructure device as matching criteria associated with a pre-identified request is received. A parameter within the network packet is identified. A rule is used to determine whether the parameter indicates that an advertisement indicator is present in a flow associated with the network packet. An action is performed based on whether the advertisement indicator is present in the network packet.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a detection method for a multi-access edge computing architecture. The multi-access edge computing architecture uses the technology of bump-in-the-wire (BITW) to be deployed between the user device and the core network. The multi-access edge computing architecture includes a baseboard management controller, an edge computing service module, a central processing unit module, and a switching module. When any function in the multi-access edge computing architecture fails, the detection method of the present invention is used to actively detect and directly connect the base station to the core network. When the function is restored, the detection method of the present invention can actively restore the original path of the base station and the core network connected to the multi-access edge computing architecture to achieve seamless debugging and other purposes.

Abstract: Technologies for timestamping data packets with forward error correction is disclosed. Alignment markers may be inserted in a data stream in order to assist with synchronization on the receiving end. After insertion of the alignment markers, a start of frame delimiter or other trigger may be detected, triggering a timestamp corresponding to the start of frame delimiter or other trigger. The data and the timestamp are sent to a remote compute device, which may timestamp the data before removing the alignment markers. With this approach, insertion of the alignment markers does not lead to a deviation in the timestamp of the sending compute device or the receiving compute device.

Abstract: Example methods and systems for logical overlay tunnel monitoring are described. One example may involve a first computer system obtaining control information identifying a list of multiple logical overlay tunnels to be monitored, including a first logical overlay tunnel between a first virtual tunnel endpoint (VTEP) and a second VTEP. Based on the control information, a first monitoring agent may configure and inject a probe packet at the first VTEP to cause the first VTEP to perform encapsulation and send an encapsulated probe packet over the first logical overlay tunnel. In response, an encapsulated response packet that includes a response packet may be received from the second monitoring agent over the first logical overlay tunnel. Based on the response packet, a tunnel performance metric associated with the first logical overlay tunnel may be determined.

  • Patent number: 11546243
Abstract: A system instantiates a unified interface for a telecommunications network including a Network Function Virtualization (NFV) architecture of an IP multimedia subsystem (IMS) with multiple Virtual Network Functions (VNFs) that each have multiple component VNFs. The system instantiates a tracing tool configured to evaluate performance of the IMS in response to execution of a test case, which includes a test script to test a computing product and where the performance of the IMS is based on packets captured concurrently from VNFs. The test script causes capture and analysis of parameters extracted from packets of the VNFs. In response to completing the test case, the system reports test results indicating the performance of the IMS relative to pass/fail criteria, where the test results are presented through the unified interface.
