The droplet generator includes a nozzle configured to supply the target droplets in a space enclosed by a chamber. In some embodiments, a nozzle tube is arranged within the nozzle of the droplet generator, and the nozzle tube includes a structured nozzle pattern configured to provide an angular momentum to the target droplets.

The capacitor header also includes first and second insulating members, which both have non-planar mating surfaces that interleave to form a non-linear path. The assay device is designed to include a test strip that is capable of detecting and indicating the presence of pathogens and/or analytes in the combination of the test sample and buffer liquid.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides methods for forming a two-dimensional silicon oxide negative electroactive material. The methods include contacting a two-dimensional silicon allotrope and an oxidizing agent in an environment having a temperature of greater than or equal to about 25° C. to less than or equal to about 1,000° C., where the contacting of the two-dimensional silicon allotrope and the oxidizing agent causes the two-dimensional silicon allotrope to oxidize and form the two-dimensional silicon oxide negative electroactive material. In certain variations, the oxidizing agent includes oxygen and the contacting of the two-dimensional silicon allotrope and the oxidizing agent may include disposing the two-dimensional silicon allotrope in an oxygen-containing environment comprising less than or equal to about 21% of oxygen. In other variations, the oxidizing agent includes a wet chemical agent.

A lower surface of the contact layer is in contact with the n layer, and an upper surface thereof is in contact with an n electrode. The contact layer is not in contact with the n layer except for regions of the holes. The n electrode is provided on almost the entire upper surface of the contact layer. Therefore, a contact area between the n electrode and the contact layer is wider than a contact area between the contact layer and the n layer.

Abstract: Embodiments relate to peptide antagonists of ?c-family cytokines, which is associated with important human diseases, such as leukemia, autoimmune diseases, collagen diseases, diabetes mellitus, skin diseases, degenerative neuronal diseases and graft-versus-host disease (GvHD). Thus, inhibitors of ?c-cytokine activity are valuable therapeutic and cosmetic agents as well as research tools. Traditional approaches to inhibiting ?c-cytokine activity involve raising neutralizing antibodies against each individual ?c-cytokine family member/receptor subunit. However, success has been limited and often multiple ?c-cytokine family members co-operate to cause the disease state. Combinatorial use of neutralizing antibodies raised against each factor is impractical and poses an increased risk of adverse immune reactions. The present embodiments overcome these shortcomings by utilizing peptide antagonists based on the consensus ?c-subunit binding site to inhibit ?c-cytokine activity.

Arrangements for multiple power semiconductor devices within a package and/or module are provided that more efficiently utilize the active device area of each power semiconductor device for a given operational specification. Certain arrangements are provided that reduce the effects of thermal crowding in order to provide increased power capability or a similar power capability in a reduced device size. Improved thermal balancing may be provided by variable spacing and/or variable offset distances between next-adjacent power semiconductor devices. In this manner, active areas of power devices and/or modules may include an increased density of power semiconductor devices within a given area while also exhibiting improved thermal profiles during operation, thereby providing improved operating characteristics and/or increased operating lifetimes.

The comparator circuit is configured to compare the input reference voltage to an input circuit voltage of a measured circuit and generate a digital measurement signal based on the comparison. To provide for the ACAL circuit to more precisely measure the input circuit voltage, the voltage reference generation circuit is programmable and is configured to a generate the input reference voltage based on a programmed reference voltage selection. In this manner, the ACAL circuit can be used to measure the input circuit voltage in an iterative manner based on different programmed input reference voltages for a more precise measurement of the input circuit voltage.

A number of possible modes of liquid-liquid extraction are possible according to the invention by utilizing porous poly (aryl ether ketone) hollow fiber membranes of Janus-like structure that exhibit a combination of hydrophilic and hydrophobic surface characteristics. The method of the present invention can address the continuous manufacture of chemicals in membrane reactors and is useful for a broad range of separation applications, including separation and recovery of active pharmaceutical ingredients.

In some embodiments, a signal may also be sent to automatically stop the train to prevent a derailment.

The semiconductor dies each includes conductive pads and resistive heating components in a dielectric layer, where the resistive heating components are located proximate to the conductive pads to supply localized thermal energy to the conductive pads in response to electric current flowing through the resistive heating components. In some embodiments, the conductive pads of the first semiconductor die are directly bonded to the conductive pads of the second semiconductor die at a first temperature less than a second temperature for the thermal expansion of the conductive pads absent the localized thermal energy generated by the resistive heating components.

Abstract: The invention provides a pneumatic tire having a tire tread with a ground engaging outer surface. The tread further has a first or central tread zone located on the central or crown portion of the tread and formed of a first rubber compound. Additionally, the tread has a second or shoulder tread zone located axially outward of the first or central tread zone on each lateral end of the tread. The second or shoulder tread zone is formed of a second rubber compound. In one example, the first rubber compound has a G? (at 50% strain) in the range of 1.6 to 1.8 MPa. In another example, the second rubber compound has a G? (at 100% strain) in the range of 800 to 830 KPa.

Abstract: A dual-lens camera system includes a first lens, a second lens, an image sensor corresponding to a position of the first lens, and a reflecting assembly. The reflecting assembly includes a first reflecting member and a second reflecting member corresponding to a position of the second lens. The first reflecting member is movable between a first position at which an optical path from the first lens to the image sensor is blocked but an optical path from the second reflecting member to the image sensor is not blocked, and a second position at which the optical path from the first lens to the image sensor is not blocked but the optical path from the second reflective member to the image sensor is blocked. Only one image sensor is used in the dual-lens camera system, which saves cost and takes up less internal space of the electronic device.
