Abstract: A fogponics apparatus is provided. The apparatus comprises a fog channel and an air channel. The fog channel has a first fog channel end that is open, and a second fog channel end that is closed. The air channel is within the fog channel and has a first air channel end extending past the first fog channel end, and a second air channel end within the fog channel. The second air channel end is distanced away from the closed second fog channel end such that when vaporized liquid is sent from the first air channel end to the second air channel end, the vaporized liquid egresses the second air channel end and travels through the fog channel to the first fog channel end.

Abstract: A plant growing system includes a growth medium preparation unit and a plant growing unit. The growth medium preparation unit includes a supply of water that feeds water through a water treatment unit, a nutrition module, and a reactor sub-system to have the water treated and modified and added with nano-elements and other nutrition components to provide a nutrition formula. The nutrition formula is supplied to the plant growing unit that includes a growing box inside which a tank is provided for receiving and holding the nutrition formula. A plant plate is disposed on the tank and is formed with at least one through opening for receiving and holding a plant. The root of plant is allowed to extend into the nutrition formula inside the tank, while the stem of the plant is growing in a void space above the plant plate and inside the growing box.

Abstract: Exemplary systems and methods are disclosed for allocating resources in a breeding pipeline to multiple origins. One exemplary method includes accessing a data structure including data representative of multiple origins, in which the data includes, for each of the multiple origins, a trait performance expression or genotypic component information. The exemplary method further includes determining a resource allocation, which allocates n resources among the multiple origins based on a probability associated with the trait performance expressions and/or the genotypic components for the origins, and then allocating the n resources in the breeding pipeline for the multiple origins, based on the determined resource allocation.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method for obtaining adventitious tetraploid buds of Blumea balsamifera, comprising the following steps: selecting a root segment of diploid B. balsamifera as an explant, culturing the root segment in a chromosome doubling inducing medium supplemented with 0.025-0.1 mg/L 1-naphthaleneacetic acid (NAA), 1.0-2.0 mg/L 6-benzylaminopurine (6-BA), and 90-150 mg/L colchicine, inducing explant cells, and simultaneously doubling chromosomes and differentiating the adventitious buds. The present disclosure fills the blank of using a root of B. balsamifera as the explant and increases effective explant sources during the propagation, proliferation and biotechnological breeding of B. balsamifera. More importantly, root cells of the B.
