Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for increasing the transmit power of wireless communication devices operating on power spectral density (PSD)-limited wireless channels. Some implementations more specifically relate to tone mapping techniques and packet designs that support duplicate (or “DUP mode”) transmissions to multiple users. In some implementations, an access point (AP) may transmit a PPDU that includes first user data and second user data, where at least the first user data is transmitted in a DUP mode. As such, the first user data may be mapped to a number (N) of tones spanning a first RU in accordance with a dual carrier modulation (DCM) scheme, and a duplicate copy of the first user data may be mapped to N tones spanning a second RU in accordance with the DCM scheme. In some implementations, the second user data also may be transmitted in a DUP mode.

Abstract: A data modulation method includes receiving a bit string at a processor, and identifying a set of binary strings based on the bit string. Each binary string from the set of binary strings is mapped to an element from a set of elements of a lattice-based signal constellation, without using a lookup table. Real-valued points from the set of elements are identified based on the mapping. The method also includes causing transmission of a signal having a modulation based on the real-valued points.

Abstract: Probabilistic shaping quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) based on Maxwell-Boltzmann distribution is particularly important in coherent optical communication, which can approach the Shannon limit more desirably in the case of a finite signal-to-noise ratio. However, standard coherent optical digital signal processing algorithms are not optimal for demodulation of PS higher-order QAM signals. The invention provides a probabilistic shaping QAM dynamic equalization method that intercepts multiple inner rings after clock recovery and updates the convergence radius and area of a conventional blind dynamic channel equalization algorithm using a peak density K-means clustering algorithm. The clustering algorithm gives centroid labels and a quantity of classifications required for K-means, which does not require a large number of iterations of K-means, thereby reducing the complexity and improving the accuracy.

Abstract: A visibility platform can be used to monitor traffic traversing private cloud infrastructures and/or public cloud infrastructures. In some instances, the traffic is provided to a set of network services that are accessible to the visibility platform. These network services can be provisioned in a serial or parallel fashion. Network service chaining can be used to ensure that traffic streams skip unnecessary network services and receive only those network services that are needed. For example, an email service chain can include virus, spam, and phishing detection, while a video streaming service chain can include traffic shaping policies to satisfy quality of service (QoS) guarantees. When the visibility platform is represented as a graph that makes use of action sets, network service chains can be readily created or destroyed on demand.

Abstract: Disclosed embodiments provide a virtual topology in response to an allocation request. The virtual topology is a synchronized subgraph of the physical topology. The synchronized subgraph virtual topology mirrors the physical topology in terms of tree structure. However, merely sharing the physical topology with users/customers is not feasible, as it may reveal additional infrastructure details such as MAC addresses, IP addresses, and the like, that can compromise security and/or jeopardize multi-tenant operations. Disclosed embodiments create virtual topology structures with obfuscated node data, so that important data such as physical IP addresses and/or MAC addresses are hidden from the end-users. Thus, disclosed embodiments provide the benefits of performance enhancement that comes from sharing the topology without the downside of compromising security by revealing physical topology details.

In embodiments, the system forecasts future values of the time series data along with a confidence interval based on seasonality characteristics of the data. The time series data is monitored for anomalies by comparing actual observed values in the time series with the predicted values and confidence intervals, according to the SCRs. The SCRs may be defined and tuned via a configuration interface that allows users to visually see how different SCRs perform over real data. Advantageously, the disclosed system allows users to create custom anomaly detection triggers for different types of time series data, without use of a monolithic detection model which can be difficult to tune.

Abstract: A system and method for processing electronic data messages mitigate the transmission of one or more electronic messages including a sequence of data as a plurality of packets characterized by a sequence therebetween corresponding to the sequence of the data of the electronic message, each packet including data indicative of the sequence of that packet relative to the others of the plurality of packets, to a receiving system, prior to the sender determining that the message(s) is/are desired, alone or in conjunction with subsequently canceling or otherwise invalidating the message(s). The system and method mitigate such behavior by adding a timestamp when the packets are received, detecting if at least one of the received augmented packets of the electronic data message was received by the network interface in an order different from the sequence between the plurality of packets, and taking an action with respect to the electronic data message.

Abstract: Examples provide a network testing solution using a remote-controlled testing device. A test device includes a computing device for executing network performance testing logic and a cellular device. The test device controls the cellular device via a series of commands issued to the cellular device by the computing device. The test device is placed onto or inside a vehicle. As the vehicle moves through a geographical area, the test device automatically and autonomously performs network testing operations. The test data generated during the test is periodically uploaded to a central controller. The central controller aggregates test data received from a plurality of test devices assigned to a plurality of vehicles for a given campaign. The aggregated test data is analyzed and filtered to generate performance test results. A user can dynamically set up each campaign and assign test devices and vehicles to each campaign using a graphical user interface.

Abstract: A wireless device can initiate a process to establish a communication link between the wireless device and an endpoint device. The wireless device can discover networks that are available for building the communication link and generate a list of multiple routing paths for the communication link that include different combinations of segments of the networks. The wireless device selects a particular routing path for the communication link and communicates a request to service providers of segments that would support the communication link. The service providers can grant the request such that the wireless device connects to the endpoint device over the communication link.

Abstract: The invention provides a method for load-balanced traffic grooming in an IP over Quasi-CWDM network, including the steps of: inputting a network topology, a set of service traffics between nodes in node pairs and a null route, and when selecting one of the node pairs from the set of service traffics and establishing a traffic request between the nodes in the node pair, deleting the virtual link for which the corresponding light path has no sufficient remnant capacity in an IP layer of the network; finding the virtual link route having the lowest hop count in the IP layer, and determining whether each virtual link on the route can satisfy the service request by means of traffic grooming; and if yes, adopting the traffic grooming strategy to satisfy the service request; and if not, adopting the wave plane based strategy to establish a light path to satisfy the service request.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a device executing an application estimates capacity metrics for paths between the device and a data source from which the device pulls data associated with the application. The device estimates a number of data requests by the device that must be pending with the data source to maintain synchronization with the application. The device determines an amount of capacity of the paths to be used by a packet recovery mechanism without causing congestion, based on the capacity metrics for the paths between the device and the data source and the number of data requests by the device that must be pending with the data source to maintain synchronization. The device requests, from the data source, use of the packet recovery mechanism for the data associated with the application, according to the amount of capacity of the paths to be used by the determined packet recovery mechanism.
