The latch assemblies are configured to be attached to the calf hutches and comprise receiver flanges and latch arms. Abstract: Robots are used to dispense a substance, such as heated oil, on target vegetation, such as weeds or specialty crops. The robot can be semi-autonomous or a towed implement and includes an imaging module that captures images of a crop row with the target vegetation and a sprayer that dispenses a micro-dose or micro-doses of the substance. The robot also includes a control system that can determine the position of the robot and identify the target vegetation and its location. Based on this information, the control system activates a sprayer that dispenses the micro-dose of the substance onto the target vegetation in the identified location.

Abstract: A cultivator for damaging undesirable plants in an agricultural setting is disclosed. Embodiments of the cultivator include one or more energy emitters that stress target biological material, and the energy emitters in particular embodiments stress plants in at least two different ways, such as imparting light at certain wavelengths that cause dual effect stressors to the plant, such as heat related stress and photochemical stress similar to a sunburn. Some embodiments include a focusing system that spreads out narrow light beams and/or brings multiple light beams together at a point that is outside the cultivator. Some focusing systems cause multiple light beams to initially diverge before converging. Some embodiments utilize unusually large mirrors to capture, for example, multiple light pathways, and direct them to the target. Advantages include the ability to accomplish weeding and/or thinning with very low overall power consumption while moving quickly through a field.

The enclosed reservoir is partially filled with a liquid. Expulsion of liquid and equalization of pressure within the device is controlled by two sensitive check valves. An upper check valve relieves excess air pressure as the ambient air warms during the day, which prevents fluid from being forced from the device due to increasing pressure build up. In the evening and night, when internal air pressure decreases in response to reduced ambient air temperature, the upper check valve closes. As internal air pressure begins to decrease, a lower check valve is biased to open. As internal pressure decreases, the lower check valve momentarily opens to equalize internal pressure. As the lower check valve opens, a small amount of liquid attractant is dispensed. When the internal pressure is equalized, the lower check valve closes.
