The material includes a high surface area carrier such as Al2O3 upon which catalysts and alkaline adsorbents are positioned proximate each other. Once the material becomes saturated with CO2, hydrogen is reintroduced to reduce the catalyst, such as ruthenium, at which time the adsorbed CO2 can migrate from the adsorbent to the catalyst for catalytic conversion to methane. The materials can be employed in isothermal, cyclic reactor systems where target species are bound and then desorbed to reactivate the material, e.g., bind more target species for desorption and/or conversion to additional product.

Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to provide an exhaust gas purifying catalyst filter which has enhanced soot collection performance without increasing pressure loss caused by the formation of a catalyst layer in a partition wall of a wall flow type substrate. A gasoline engine exhaust gas purifying catalyst filter for purifying exhaust gas of a gasoline engine includes: a wall flow type substrate in which an introduction-side cell having an open exhaust gas introduction-side end, and a discharge-side cell adjacent to the introduction-side cell and having an open exhaust gas discharge-side end are defined by a porous partition wall; and a catalyst layer formed in a pore of the partition wall. An absolute value of a maldistribution degree of the catalyst layer formed in the pore of the partition wall is 4.50 or less. A wash coat amount, excluding a mass of a platinum group, of the catalyst layer formed in the pore of the partition wall, is 40 g/L or more and 50 g/L or less.

Abstract: An immersed membrane cassette has a high tank intensity achieved by one or more of: reduced module to module gap; using structural hollow tubing in at least parts of a frame in place of separate permeate and/or air pipes; and, using vertical permeate port connections. The cassette has a tank intensity over 650 m2/m2. The cassette may be combined with a fine screen. This specification also describes an immersed membrane module having a permeate port and/or connector on the top of a header. The permeate connection between the module and a permeate collection tube may be vertical, i.e. perpendicular to the length of the header. A piston seal may be used between the permeate port of the header and the permeate collection tube. The permeate collection tube may be a horizontal structural member on the periphery of a frame that holds the module.

Abstract: A membrane filter is treated with formulated oxide powder and submerged in a liquid to be treated. Colloids in the liquid to be treated are separated and removed, and a colloid-free gap is maintained between the filtered colloids and the formulated oxide powder on the surface of the membrane by adjusting the flux rate which may typically range from 250-750 litres per m2 per hour. A low trans-membrane pressure is maintained across the membrane while the colloid-free gap is maintained, and a low turbidity is achieved in the filtered liquid.

The venturi-type composite nozzle device suctions air pollutants in the vicinity thereof by using negative pressure formed through the venturi principle, and then mixes same with water, jets the mixed water and brings same into contact with the air pollutants again, so as to have a large adsorption ratio of air pollutants in comparison to the amount of water usage, and enables water to be reduced by that amount, and thus has excellent operating performance. To perform such functions, the device employs a venturi-type intake casing, an introducing-spray nozzle, and an impeller.
