  • Patent number: 12017556
Abstract: An electric vehicle (EV) charging method which considers the EVs heterogeneity, taking into account the absence of any information about future arrivals and departures, and of the amount of time any charging will take. The method further considers both switch on and off possibilities and not an arbitrarily small minimum charging power. In order to achieve all these objectives, the invention defines novel metrics and uses them to construct a dedicated optimization problem. As the charging power is discontinuous, the minimum charging power not being arbitrarily small, the optimization problem is mixed integer by nature. Further, because the mixed-integer optimization is difficult to perform in real-time, the invention proposes a heuristic for reducing the number of integer variables, thus reducing the complexity of the problem.

Abstract: The imaging unit 500 captures an image using a lens having an effective image circle smaller than the imaging surface of an image sensor. A vignetting amount calculation unit 2212 of a detection unit 221 individually calculates, for four corners, a region size of a vignetting region generated in the captured image acquired by the imaging unit 500, for example. A determination unit 2214 detects a change in the region size calculated at the time of focus abnormality detection processing with respect to the region size calculated at the reference time, and determines that a focus abnormality is detected when the change in the region size exceeds a threshold at any of the four corners. This enables accurate detection of focus abnormality.

Abstract: A vehicular vision system includes a plurality of digital cameras disposed at a vehicle and a display device having a video display screen disposed in an interior cabin of the vehicle and viewable by a driver of the vehicle. Rear backup video images derived from image data captured by a rear backup digital camera are displayed on the video display screen no later than two seconds after the driver of the vehicle first changes propulsion of the vehicle during a new ignition cycle to reverse mode to commence a backup event. Until the backup event is completed, the video display screen displays rear backup video images. Image data conveyed from the plurality of digital cameras is combined to form composite video images that are output for display at the video display screen to provide a bird's eye view that enhances the driver's understanding of areas surrounding the equipped vehicle.
