  • Publication number: 20240225840
Abstract: Described herein are devices and methods for mitral valve repair. The devices and methods implant a plurality of distal anchors at an annulus of the mitral valve (e.g., the posterior annulus) and tension artificial chordae to pull the portion of the annulus toward an opposite edge and inward into the ventricle. This can effectively reduce the size of the orifice and increase coaptation. The delivery devices can be configured to be actuated to form a distal anchor made of a pre-formed knot. The delivery devices deliver the pre-formed knot in an elongate configuration. Actuation of the delivery device causes the pre-formed knot to transition from the elongate configuration to the deployed configuration by approximating opposite ends of a suture coupled to a coiled configuration to form one or more loops. After formation of the knot, the delivery device can be withdrawn.

A pre-operative patient questionnaire user interface is associated with a future knee operation of the patient. Patient input data is indicative of answers of a patient in relation to the pre-operative patient questionnaire. A processor of a computer system evaluates a statistical model to determine a predicted satisfaction value indicative of satisfaction of the patient with the future knee operation. The statistical model comprises nodes stored on data memory representing the patient input data and the predicted satisfaction value, and edges stored on data memory between the nodes representing conditional dependencies between the patient input data and the predicted satisfaction value. The method includes advancing a catheter including a main body having a first portion and a second portion, the main body defining a first portal being pre-cannulated with a first guide member, partially deploying the first portion of the main body, advancing a first sheath along the first guide member through the first portal, advancing a first articulatable wire through the first sheath, positioning the first articulatable wire into a first branch lumen of the target site, partially deploying the second portion of the main body, fully deploying the first portion and the second portion of the main body, advancing a first side branch body along the first articulatable wire into the first branch lumen, and deploying the first side branch body in the first branch lumen.

Abstract: Hybrid stent prosthesis and related methods for their use are described herein. A hybrid stent prosthesis may include a self-expanding stent frame, a balloon-expandable stent frame, and a cover integrating the self-expanding stent frame and the balloon-expandable stent frame. In some cases, the hybrid stent prosthesis may further include a transition zone and/or one or more markers. In some circumstances, the hybrid stent prosthesis may be advanced through the anatomy of a patient by a delivery catheter system and deployed at a deployment site by a deployment system of the delivery catheter system. A balloon inflation corresponding to the balloon-expandable stent frame may anchor the hybrid stent prosthesis. After anchoring, the self-expanding stent frame may be allowed to expand to its deployed configuration. The distal end of the balloon-expandable stent frame may then be further expanded to match anatomy. In cases, the hybrid stent prosthesis deploys with/in a parent prosthesis.

Abstract: A proximal stent-graft retention system includes a stent-graft having a suture loop attached to a proximal end of the stent-graft and a delivery catheter having a distal tip that includes a retention feature. The retention feature can include a slot extending through a sidewall of the distal tip and a trigger wire. The slot of the distal tip exposes a portion of the trigger wire within the tip lumen such that the trigger wire may extend through the suture loop of the stent-graft at the slot of the distal tip of the delivery catheter and is configured to retain the proximal end of the stent-graft in the radially expanded configuration via the suture loop to prevent distal migration and compression of the stent-graft. Proximal retraction of the trigger wire releases the suture loop of the stent-graft such that the stent-graft is no longer coupled to the delivery catheter.

Abstract: Benign prosthetic hyperplasia (BPH) is a non-cancerous enlargement of the prostate gland. Treatment options for BPH include medication, surgery (e.g., removal of enlarged prostate tissue), and minimally invasive procedures (e.g., needle ablation, electrovaporization, thermotherapy, and stent insertion). Minimally invasive procedure is typically the preferred choice if medication is ineffective. Accordingly, disclosed herein are system and method for treating BPH using improved implant and delivery device. Certain embodiments of the delivery device can include: a camming barrel having a first groove at the distal end of the camming barrel; a sheath, located within a lumen of the camming barrel, for storing the implantable device; and a first cam follower coupled to the sheath.

Abstract: An adjustable band or clamp or non-adjustable clamp is placed about the greater curvature of the stomach in a vertical orientation. The band or clamp compartmentalizes the stomach between a small vertical pouch and the fundus and body of the stomach. The fundus and body of the stomach are excluded from nutrients and are separated from a long narrow channel where the food travels. A small passage at the level of the antrum allows gastric juices to empty from the fundus and body of the stomach. The clamp may be applied during open surgery in laproscopic surgery or using a single port technique, or through any natural orifice in NOTES (Natural Orifice Transluminal Endoscopic surgery) or using a hybrid surgical technique.
