  • Patent number: 12076204
Abstract: A method for generating a 3D digital, updated, model of a dental arch, including: Acquiring at least one updated image. Each updated image representing an active aligner attached, in an operating position, to a dental arch, or ‘image with aligner’, or representing the dental arch without an aligner, or ‘image of uncovered teeth’. Searching in an updated image, referred to as the ‘updated analysis image’, for representations of teeth that are non-compliant with the treatment scenario. If one or more non-compliant teeth are identified, determining, depending on the updated time, one of an intermediate models, or ‘active intermediate model’, then identifying one or more models of teeth representing the noncompliant tooth or teeth, respectively, in the active intermediate model. Deforming the active intermediate model until an updated model is obtained that is compatible with at least one of the updated images.

  • Patent number: 12076205
Abstract: Systems and methods for generating a 3D model of a dentition are disclosed herein. A method includes generating a first 3D model of a dentition. The dentition includes a model tooth in a first position. The method includes receiving a digital representation comprising a patient tooth. The patient tooth corresponds to the model tooth of the first 3D model. The method includes determining a virtual camera parameter associated with the digital representation. The method includes adjusting the virtual camera parameter to determine a 3D position of the corresponding patient tooth. The method includes moving the model tooth of the first 3D model from the first position to a second position. The second position corresponds to the 3D position of the corresponding patient tooth. The method includes generating a second 3D model comprising the model tooth of the first 3D model in the second position.

  • Patent number: 12076206
Abstract: Methods for designing orthodontic appliances are provided. In some embodiments, a method includes receiving a treatment plan for a patient's dentition and generating an aligner model representing an aligner configured to implement a treatment stage of the treatment plan. The aligner model can include a thickness map having a thickness parameter for each location of the aligner model. The method can include adjusting the thickness map by using the aligner model to evaluate an outcome when the aligner is applied to the patient's dentition, and iteratively reducing the value of each thickness parameter of the thickness map based on the evaluation until a resulting thickness is determined for each thickness parameter. The method can also include providing instructions to manufacture the aligner based on the aligner model with the resulting thickness for each thickness parameter of the thickness map.

  • Patent number: 12076207
Abstract: The disclosed computer-implemented method for selecting locations of mandibular relocation features (MRFs) on oral appliances may include determining candidate locations for placing an MRF on a first oral appliance for a first stage of mandibular relocation (MR) treatment and determining candidate locations for placing an MRF on a second oral appliance for a second stage. The method may include selecting from the candidate locations for the first stage and the second stage based on decreasing a distance between the selected pair of candidate locations. The method may further include processing multiple MRFs in parallel. The method may also include increasing a number of initial candidate locations. Locations for intermediate stages may be selected based on interpolating between the first and second stages or based on decreasing a distance between the selected pair if the interpolation fails. The intermediate stages may be processed using a binary search or a linear search.

Abstract: A method of assembling a prosthetic heart valve includes providing a collapsible and expandable stent having an annulus section and an aortic section. The annulus section has a first diameter in a relaxed condition and a second diameter less than the first diameter in a collapsed condition. A constraint is applied to the stent to constrain the annulus section to a predetermined diameter between the first and second diameters. Applying a cuff and/or a plurality of leaflets to the stent in the constrained condition enables less material to be used. The resultant prosthetic valve is therefore able to be collapsed to a smaller diameter for introduction into a patient.

Abstract: Systems and methods treat a heart valve using a magnetically adjustable annuloplasty ring attached to or near a cardiac valve annulus. A changing magnetic field may be used to selectively increase or decrease a circumference of, or otherwise modify the shape of, the implanted annuloplasty ring. The adjustable annuloplasty ring includes a tubular body member, one or more adjustable members, and an internal magnet within the tubular body member. The tubular body member and the one or more adjustable members form a ring shape. The internal magnet is configured to rotate in response to a rotating external magnetic field. The internal magnet is coupled to the one or more adjustable members to change a dimension of the ring shape as the internal magnet rotates. A system for treating a heart valve may include an external adjustment device having one or more external magnets to generate the rotating external magnetic field.

Abstract: An expandable intervertebral spacer system having a cage formed by a top plate and a bottom plate which are held apart a changeable distance. An expansion mechanism within the cavity is configured to force the top plate apart from the bottom plate a desired distance. One expansion mechanism is an expansion spring that is held in a compressed state with a removable trigger wire that temporarily secures the top and bottom plates together. Once the spacer is implanted in a patient, the trigger wire is removed permitting the expansion spring to relax, in a single motion, to the farthest extent possible in an intervertebral space. The top plate and the bottom plate are locked apart using a locking mechanism made of two saw-toothed posts that cooperate to lock the top plate a desired distance from the bottom plate. The saw-tooth posts are biased against each other with a spring.
