Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods for patient setup and patient target region localization for the irradiation of multiple patient target regions in a single treatment session. Virtual localization is a method that can be used to register a patient target region without requiring that the patient is physically moved using the patient platform. Instead, the planned fluence is updated to reflect the current location of the patient target region by selecting a localization reference in the localization image, calculating a localization function based on the localization reference point, and calculating the delivery fluence by convolving the localization function with a shift-invariant firing filter. Mosaic multi-target localization partitions a planned fluence map for multiple patient target regions into sub-regions that can be individually localized.

Abstract: When it comes to extinguishing destructive fires, one of the greatest tragedies of property loss in fires is the damage done by the water during the extinguishing process. It can be extreme. This invention eliminates the water and the resulting damage and greatly reduces the cost of cleanup and repair after the fire is extinguished. Furthermore, the greatest threat to fire emergency personnel is close proximity to the fire. Often times, in order to put out a fire, such as in a building, a firefighter must enter the building to get access to the fire. This entails great danger and sometimes death or injury. This invention makes it easier and faster for firefighters to apply fire-extinguishing agents to the fire without entering the building. Current technology does not offer these benefits.

Abstract: A stretch-assisting device, adapted for mounting in a vertical orientation on a door, wall or analogous vertical substrate, features an upper framework portion and a lower framework portion, coupled together. Each framework portion consists essentially of hollow rigid tubing arranged in a loop shape, with attached metal rings which project horizontally. Through each plurality of metal rings, an elastic cord is threaded, and joined to form a loop. Once the device is mounted on the substrate, a person can rest a body portion, such as a heel or elbow, on a selected segment of the elastic cord, and begin to stretch a muscle or tendon associated with the body portion. Since the cord is somewhat yielding, triggering of the myotatic reflex is avoided, or at least delayed, thereby facilitating completion of a stretch. A user can also secure an audiovisual playback device adjacent the device, in order to inform the user during stretching.

Abstract: A workout bench is disclosed with a movable bench top and storage containers. The workout bench is supported by a series of rubber gription pads which grip the support surface, preventing the bench from moving while in use. The bench comprises a retractable/extendable swivel caster. When the bench should be moved and/or relocated, the retractable/extendable swivel caster is engaged. A lifting swivel caster mechanism utilizes a series of linkages and levers that is activated by a push/pull toggle clamp. A visual indicator window indicates to the user that the unit is secure to the surface. The visual indicator bracket is a component of the linkage assembly and indicates the state of the linkage assembly to the user of the bench.

At least one of the side frames includes a first horizontal bar, a second horizontal bar, a third horizontal bar, and first and second vertical bars. The second horizontal bar is positioned above the first horizontal bar, and the third horizontal bar is positioned above the second horizontal bar. Each side frame accommodates a user, enabling the exercise apparatus to accommodate multiple users simultaneously. The plurality of the side frames are constructed to form a closed polygonal frame. The closed polygonal frame may be shaped as a triangle, rectangle, square, pentagon, hexagon, octagon, or other polygon. In the alternative embodiment, the plurality of the side frames may form an unclosed polygon to allow a trainer or instructor to enter the unclosed polygon through the open side.

The device comprises a frame supported on the ground and a platform which provides a support for a person to stand on during use. The person grips handles which are coupled to a bar that is pivotally coupled to the frame. The person then flexes their muscles (including the abdominal muscles) to rotate the handles with respect to the platform, and by relaxing their muscles, returns the handles to the original position. The exercise may be made more challenging by engaging weights from a weight stack. The device further comprises a bolster for a user to optionally use for support during exercise.

Abstract: A system determining a spin axis of a ball includes a radar transmitting a signal into a target area. The radar includes a minimum of three receivers arranged so that two pairs of receivers are not co-linear. The system also includes a Processing Unit (“PU”) receiving data from the radar and determining a radar range of frequencies received at a point in time corresponding to differing velocities relative to the radar of different portions of the ball as the ball is spinning. PU divides the radar frequency range into a plurality of frequency components and calculating, for each of the frequency components, an angular position associated therewith. PU identifies as a projection of the spin axis in a plane perpendicular to a line of sight from the radar to the ball, a line perpendicular to a line represented by the determined angular positions.
