Abstract: Chronic non-healing wounds represent a major source of morbidity for patients, and a significant economic burden. Current wound care treatments are passive and are unable to adapt to changes in the wound environment in real time. By integrating multimodal sensors and adding stimulators in a bandage, physiological monitoring is possible and provides an opportunity for active intervention into the complex wound environment. Here, we develop a battery-free flexible bioelectronic system consisting of wirelessly powered, closed-loop, autonomous sensing and stimulation circuits with tissue-interfacing tough conducting hydrogel electrodes for robust signal transduction, on-demand adhesion, and detachment.

Abstract: In embodiments a wearable cardioverter defibrillator (WCD) system is worn by an ambulatory patient. The WCD system analyzes an ECG signal of the patient, to determine whether or not the patient should be given an electric shock to restart their heart. If the WCD system determines that such a shock should be given, then it also determines whether or not a High Frequency (H-F) noise criterion is met by the ECG signal. If that H-F noise criterion is not met, the patient can be shocked. If, however, that H-F noise criterion is met, then the WCD system can confirm before shocking, by sensing another portion of the ECG signal, analyzing again, and so on. Thanks to the confirmation before shocking, the possibility is diminished that the ECG signal will indicate that a shock is needed falsely, due to H-F noise. This can further reduce false patient alarms, and so on.

Abstract: The flexible light for skin therapy with adjustable attachment mechanism includes a circuit board to which the multiplicity of LEDs is attached to form one or more LED arrays. The use of a flexible circuit board allows the electronic components to conform to the shape of the user's body, but also able to be shipped and stored in a flat, space-saving configuration. The silica gel encapsulates the LEDs, and is transparent to the frequency of light emitted by the LEDs. The body of the device includes perforated edges. The perforated edges are created from a multiplicity of holes arranged in line to create a perforated strip. Repositionable camlocks, or locks that hold straps in position, interface with the holes. Each repositionable camlock preferably includes mushroom-shaped pins, the head of each mushroom-shaped pin passing through a hole in the perforated strip.

Abstract: A system for generating light radiation to neutralize microorganisms comprises a light source for emitting a light radiation, storage means with one or more unique identification codes, each of which is associated with a respective microorganism, and at least one respective wavelength range associated with said microorganism, and a logic control unit. The logic control unit is configured to select a wavelength range based on the microorganism to be neutralized, activate the light source in such a way that light radiation emitted by said light source has a wavelength within said selected wavelength range, so that, when the system is in use, the light radiation induces optical resonance in the microorganism, causing denaturation of genetic patrimony of the microorganism.

Abstract: A light irradiation apparatus includes first and second light sources that emit first light and second light, respectively. The first and the second lights have mutually different wavelengths at timings close to each other, regardless of overlap between the first light and the second light. The first light has a wavelength band for inducing destruction of bacteria by damaging a cell of the bacteria as the first light acts on a photosensitizer present in the bacteria. The second light has a wavelength band for inducing the destruction of the bacteria by changing the structure of a genetic material present in the cell of the bacteria. A dose of the second light source is less than 1/10 of a dose of the first light source.
