Abstract: Deoxyhemoglobin contrast has been used to locate arteries based on the earlier blood oxygen-level dependent (BOLD) signal arrival time, higher BOLD signal strength, and shorter mean transit time. However, additional strategies of identifying arteries with oxygen modulation are required to improve the sensitivity and specificity of results. The present disclosure provides a method of distinguishing extravascular voxels from intravascular voxels based on the magnetic signal obtained from two hypoxic boluses having two different baselines. Intravascular voxels are responsive to changes in the baseline due to their high blood volume, while extravascular voxels are not affected by changes to the baseline. Amongst intravascular voxels, arteries can be distinguished from veins because the extraction fraction of the arterial blood is reduced during hypoxia, and therefore veins are less sensitive to changes in the baseline.

Abstract: A hydration level tracking system and method measures microwave energy accepted by skin in a desired target area of a user or patient in order to determine, in real time and in vivo, representative hydration levels. A measurement unit comprises a transmitter operatively connected to an antenna to deliver energy towards appropriate layer. The measurement unit determines an accepted energy power value of the skin associated with the desired target area. This measurement energy power value is compared with a calibration value, and the difference is used to determine a representative hydration level value. The determined hydration value may further be acclimatized using additional sensed values compensating for biological and ambient factors relevant to the patient. The final determined hydration level value can be displayed for reading and/or transmitted and stored for recording for further reference.

Abstract: A system for precisely locating abnormal areas of brain fiber bundles. The system extracts fiber connections of the whole brain from diffusion magnetic resonance data, and fiber bundle pathways extracts through self-defined fiber bundle pathways or based on brain fiber bundle templates. A selected fiber bundle pathway is projected on a fiber connection result of the whole brain and finely segmented. The imaging indexes such as fractional anisotropy, mean diffusivity, intra-neurite volume fraction and orientation dispersion index are calculated from diffusion magnetic resonance data, so as to obtain the imaging index of each node of each fiber bundle pathway. These imaging indexes are configured to classify the disease group and the healthy group by a machine learning method, and which nodes on which fiber bundle pathways have abnormal changes with different diseases can be precisely located.

The deformable model comprises a plurality of model passageway links connected at connection points, and each of the model passageway links includes a centerline. At each respective connection point, the corresponding passageway links include an orientation. The instructions further cause the one or more processors to modify the deformable model by modifying relative orientations of one or more model passageway links of the plurality of model passageway links. The modifying is based on one or more modeling parameters that affect a shape of the plurality of model passageway links.

An example method includes obtaining sensor data from individual devices worn on individual limbs of a user, the devices generating sensor data indicative of, at least, acceleration information associated with the limbs. The obtained sensor data is adjusted for input into a machine learning model, with the machine learning model being a deep learning model. A forward pass is computed through the machine learning model, with the machine learning model being trained to output information indicative of goal-directed movements (GDMs) performed by the user. Information indicative of GDMs is obtained via the machine learning model, with the information reflects particular labels identifying particular GDMs.
