  • Publication number: 20150053101
Abstract: The invention relates to a press drive for a press or a press having a press drive. The invention also relates to a method for controlling the press drive by means of a control unit. The press drive is used for moving a ram of the press in a stroke direction H between an upper return point OT and a lower return point UT. It comprises a knee lever gear having a first lever and a second lever. A connecting rod engages on the knee lever of the two levers and is connected on the other end to an eccentric of an eccentric drive. The control unit can drive the eccentric drive in a first operating mode B1 or a second operating mode B2 or, in particular, also a third operating mode B3. In the first and the second operating modes B1, B2, the eccentric oscillates in a respectively different angle region W1, W2 about a rotation axis D of the eccentric drive, thus resulting in different force and movement states of the ram in both operating modes.

  • Publication number: 20020020307
Abstract: A slide drive device for a press drives a slide without employing a horizontal slide guide mechanism. Connecting rods move in a linear-type motion level with a balanced crank shaft to minimize vibration. A dynamic balance mechanism further reduces vibration and a slide height adjustment mechanism enables simple top and bottom dead center slide adjustment from a central location. The connecting rods transmit force from the crank shaft to upper links, and through middle and lower links to the slide. A fixed fulcrum pin on the upper link is vertically aligned with a slider pin on the middle link. A center fulcrum pin connects the upper and middle links at a fixed relationship. The slide drive device provides a lower slide speed for increased force adjacent the bottom dead center position and higher slide speed adjacent the top dead center position for speedier return.

  • Patent number: 6199478
Abstract: A press machine comprises a frame, a first crankshaft rotatively arranged on the frame, a second crankshaft arranged on the frame so as to rotate angularly, a pair of levers connected with each other such that they can make a bending and stretching motion, one lever being connected with the frame such that it can make a pivotal motion but can not be relatively displaced, the other lever being pivotally connected with the second crankshaft, and a link which connects the levers with the first crankshaft and bends and stretches both of the levers as the first crankshaft is rotated, thereby enabling to reduce the number of parts constituting a transmission mechanism for transmitting the rotary motion of the first crankshaft to a slide.

  • Patent number: 6055903
Abstract: A connecting rod unit is eccentrically supported on the drive shaft. The connecting rod unit is pivotally mounted via link members to double arm levers. Each double arm lever is pivotally mounted to a single arm lever. Furthermore, each single arm lever is coupled at its end remote from the double arm levers to a device for the adjusting of the height position of the ram. Each single arm lever supports a pressing column. These pressing columns are pivotally mounted to the ram. Accordingly, the structural members which transmit the driving force from the connecting rod unit to the pressing columns can be designed extremely stiff and with a minimal springiness. Also, all structural members located between the connecting rod unit and the ram, inclusive the ram, are designed in such a manner that no additional balancing forces for the vertical mass force balancing are needed.

  • Patent number: 6012322
Abstract: A slide-driving device for knuckle presses employs a side link affixed at a base end to the knuckle press, and pivoted at its outer end to a junction between links that drive the slide. The side link maintains a very small slope angle for the lower link, which raises and lowers the slide. The small slope angle prevents thrust force from being generated on the slide, and enables performing high-precision molding of products even with extrusion operations, where the molding is started from a position high above the bottom dead center of the slide. In one embodiment of the invention, the base end of the side link is rigidly affixed to the frame of the knuckle press. In a second embodiment of the invention, a bottom dead center compensation device adjusts the position of the outer end of the side link at bottom dead center to compensate for changes in the linkage.

  • Patent number: 5848568
Abstract: A link mechanism for driving a slide in a machine press has a pivot pin with an adjustable position for varying the die height and the stroke length of the slide. A first link of the link mechanism is connected to a sliding member which is restricted to vertical movement in a groove. Another end of the first link is pivotally connected to a second link and a third link. Another end of the second link is pivotally connected to the pivot pin. Another end of the third link is connected to a plunger which is connected to the slide. The plunger is movably held in the machine press and restricted to vertical movement. • Patent number: 5799573
Abstract: A single-cylinder hydraulic press has a ram member spaced apart from a lower head die, and a work area being defined therebetween. The cylinder and the piston rod enable reciprocating movement of the ram member relative to the lower head die. A linkage mechanism enables cooperative engagement between the piston rod and the ram member. The linkage mechanism provides rolling contact with the ram member along four distinct linear locations. The linkage mechanism includes four pivot brackets, enabling pivotal rotation of the bell cranks relative thereto, and two lever pins retaining the bell cranks with the piston rod. Sandwiched between the bell cranks are two cam followers, which are driven upwardly and downwardly by the piston rod, the bell cranks each including a pair of rollers which engage with the ram member and provide "four point" contact therewith.

  • Patent number: 5746123
Abstract: The eccentric shaft is connected via the connecting rod and slider to single arm levers projecting at both sides away from the slider. At their ends remote from the slider the levers are supported via threaded spindles at the frame of the punch press. Groups of link members are pivotally mounted to the levers. These groups of link members are connected to double lever pairs arranged symmetrically relative to the center line of the frame of the press. Every double lever is pivotally mounted to a pressing column. The pressing columns of a respective pair of double levers are mounted to a relative ram. Each ram is guided by three guide columns, of which two are rigidly connected to a ram and one to the frame of the press. By the symmetrical dividing of the driving structures and the two rams derived therefrom the punch press is given an extremely long space for mounting the tools without that the height of the punch press, the allowable rated output and the moving masses must be kept overly large.

Abstract: The push rods (16, 17) are connected via ball-and-socket joints (42-45) to the ram (3). The sockets (44, 45) are located within the push rods (16, 17) and the balls (42, 43) are located above the ram (3) and mounted to same. Thus, in case of off center loadings of the ram (3) no bending moments are transmitted to the push rods (16, 17). • Patent number: 4593669
Abstract: An injection timing control device in a distributor-type fuel injection pump for an internal combustion engine having a filter arranged in the exhaust passage for trapping exhaust gas fine particles, and a sensor for detecting exhaust pressure upstream of the filter. A timer spring and a second spring having a smaller force than that of the timer spring are accommodated within a spring chamber at one end of a timer piston. While the timer piston is displaced from its initial position to a predetermined position in the injection timing advancing direction by pressure within a hydraulic pressure chamber at the other end of the timer piston, the second spring alone counteracts the displacement of the timer piston. When the timer piston is further displaced beyond the predetermined position in the injection timing advancing direction, at least the timer spring counteracts the displacement of the timer piston.
