Abstract: A bale forming apparatus and a bale forming method form cylindrical bales. An intake device conveys material into a bale forming chamber. A bale is formed in the bale forming chamber. A bale pushing device pushes the bale onto a bale supporting construction being in a bale receiving position. This bale supporting construction buffers the bale. • Patent number: 8991308
Abstract: The present invention relates to a baler ejection system that may be used with an agricultural harvester, such as a round baler, waste baler, combine, or cotton harvester. More particularly, the bale ejection system uses the motion of two pairs of parallel arms that extend transversely from the sidewalls of a bale chamber at two sets of distinct pivot points. When activated by the operator of the bale ejection system, the two pairs of parallel arms raise simultaneously to expose an outlet through which the bale may be ejected. The bale ejection system is designed to allow a larger outlet for the bale evacuation as compared to existing bale ejection systems that employ circular motion to expose the bale outlet. A formed bale may become ejected by one or more conveyer belts that exert a rearward force on the bale within the bale chamber.

Abstract: A hauling or towing vehicle has a power take-off shaft that can be activated and deactivated selectively by way of a coupling. The apparatus has drivable elements that can be connected to the power take-off shaft. An electronic control unit of the apparatus is connected via a bus to an electronic control unit of the hauling or towing vehicle. The electronic control unit of the apparatus is connected to a sensor for detecting a living creature present in a danger zone of the machine. In the case that a living creature is detected in the danger zone, the electronic control unit of the apparatus causes the electronic control unit of the hauling or towing vehicle to order an actuator to disconnect the coupling of the power take-off shaft and/or to prevent the actuator from closing the coupling.

Abstract: A round baler is described having a housing with two sidewalls and a plurality of belts arranged side by side within the housing between the sidewalls and guided over rolls of which at least some are mounted movably to permit a baling to increase in diameter as the bale being formed grows in size. The movable rolls are supported by a belt tension arm assembly having radius arms extending from an axle that is rotatable relative to the housing about an axis parallel to that of the rolls. The rolls nearest the sidewalls of the housing are cantilevered mounted on the belt tension arm assembly to extend laterally beyond the radius arms.

  • Patent number: 8707865
Abstract: A continuous-operation baler assembly is provided which includes a separate and leading surge bin followed by a baler. The surge bin and baler each comprise a separate pick up mechanism for collecting agricultural material. When the baler has collected material and is ready to finish a bale the surge bin receives a signal and begins collecting agricultural material. Once the bale nears finish, the material collected by the surge bin is metered out into the path of or otherwise transferred to the baler during the next bale formation cycle, where it is picked up and formed into a bale.

  • Patent number: 8683779
Abstract: An agricultural piston bale press includes a pressing piston, a main driving mechanism, an intake device to take in crop material, and a stuffing device. The stuffing device includes a feed passage and a stuffing mechanism that has a tine arm supporting tines that can be moved along a stuffing trajectory, and a drive mechanism for driving the tine arm. The drive mechanism is configured to move the tine arm in a cyclic movement along a constant trajectory, and that the tines are movably supported on the tine arm so that the tines can be arranged in different positions with respect to the tine arm to follow different trajectories.

  • Patent number: 8656830
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for applying preservative to agricultural crops during baling. More particularly, a baler has a preservative application system and a bale size sensor. The preservative application system has a preservative storage container, a preservative transfer device and an applicator device. The preservative transfer device is in communication with both the storage container and the applicator device to transfer a preservative stored in the storage container to the applicator device. The bale size sensor is in communication with the transfer device so that the transfer device and therefore the application of preservative to the crop can be controlled in response to a bale size sensed by the bale size sensor.

  • Patent number: 8656832
Abstract: A round baler comprises a baling chamber which is surrounded by compression elements in the form of a single compression belt or a plurality of compression belts, the adjacent edges of which butt directly against one another. The compression elements rest on a drivable roll and freely running rolls and is guided laterally through lateral guides in the axial direction of at least one of the rolls. The lateral guides are arranged on both sides of the compression elements immediately upstream of a drivable roll with regard to the direction of movement of the compression elements which applies during the baling operation. They consist of discs which rotate in the plane of the compression elements, the discs having grooves into which the compression elements extends.

  • Publication number: 20140041537
Abstract: An improved belt guide system comprising individual guide sleeves mounted on one or more of the guide rolls, one sleeve for each belt, in an agricultural round baler. Each sleeve encircles the roll surface of the guide roll and is positioned between the belt and the guide roll surface in a manner allowing relative rotational movement between the sleeve and the guide roll. Each guide sleeve is thus allowed to match the peripheral speed of the respective belt as it passes over the guide roll and allow slippage to occur between the guide roll surface and the inner circumference of the guide sleeve. Flanges extending radially outwardly on each sleeve end maintain the sleeve alignment with the respective belt.

Abstract: A round baler for use in baling crops has a bale forming mechanism that forms a bale in a baling chamber of the round baler and a volumetric baling rate monitor that measures and displays the amount of crop material taken in by the round baler. The volumetric baling rate monitor includes a bale size sensor that generates a signal representative of a measured size of the bale in the baling chamber and a controller that receives the bale size signal from the bale size sensor over a desired period of time and calculates a volumetric baling rate from an increase in the measured size of the bale in the baling chamber over the period of time. The volumetric baling rate monitor also includes a user interface that displays the volumetric baling rate of the baler.
