Abstract: A densification system for shredding and densifying specification raw materials for use as an alternative fuel source. The densified specification raw materials formed by the inventive system are readily transportable to a fuel processing site where they may be used to generate energy.
Abstract: A method for processing yellow pine wood products into pellets for use as animal litter. The process includes the steps of collecting and drying yellow pine material and drying the wood material into a grist. The grist is moisturized by exposure to steam before placement into a pellet forming device that applies heat and pressure to the grist. The formed pellets are deposited into bags and sealed for shipment. The pellets are used as animal litter that is highly absorbent, biodegradable, odor controlling, dustless, and will remain smooth and non-fur-engaging through continued handling.
Abstract: A sealing strip for a housing of a pelletizing machine has a one-piece sealing body with a central web with an upper side having two upper edges and a lower side having two lower edges, two sealing lips extending from the upper edges of the upper side of the central web at an angle relative to one another, and a clamping strip extending from a center of the lower side of the central web and provided with lateral webs.

Abstract: A method of and apparatus for pelletizing a radioactive waste powder is disclosed. The apparatus includes a pelletizing section, and a pelletizing die which has one end facing a powder receiving cavity formed in the pelletizing section and the other end exposed to the atmosphere, and a through bore is so formed in the die as to pass from the one end to the other end. A first pelletizing rod can be inserted into and pulled out of the through bore from the one end of the die through the cavity, and a second pelletizing rod can be inserted into a pulled out of the through bore from the other end of the die. The first and second rods are arranged such that, when the second rod takes a predetermined position in the through bore, the first rod is inserted through the receiving cavity into the through bore, thereby enabling the pelletizing operation of the powder within the through bore.
Abstract: Flywheel driven, ram compressed briquette forming apparatus having a density determining split die and pneumatically actuable die clamp. The improvement comprises an improved ram housing having a plurality of access covers opening to the ram bearings, oil seals, scraper rings, split die and other wear susceptible components. Further features include provision for water cooling the die, maintaining a constant oil pressure at the bearings, separating the oil seals from primary and secondary segmented ram scraper rings, increasing the crosshead sliding surface area, to oil cooling the ram, and all of which taken together facilitate briquette production and prolong the maintenance cycle.
