Patent number: 4290837Abstract: A method of forming a stack of unexpanded honeycomb core sheets from a continous web of which alternate sheets in the stack have linearly spaced and transversely extending lines of adhesive on one side spaced equally between similar adhesive lines on the others of the sheets when evenly stacked, such method including applying linearly spaced and transversely extending lines of adhesive on one face of the web, cutting the web parallel to the adhesive lines with one cut being made along the linear center of a line of adhesive and the next cut being made along the linear center of the space between the adhesive lines, and then stacking the cut sheets in even edge alignment resulting in the lines of adhesive being linearly staggered on one sheet with respect to those on the adjacent sheet.Type: GrantFiled: December 28, 1979Date of Patent: September 22, 1981Inventor: Joseph D. Patent number: 4238999Abstract: A rotary cylindrical-screen printing apparatus for specularly printing equal patterns and/or colors onto the opposite faces of a fabric is disclosed, comprising two rotary screen printing machines, each equipped with electromechanical means for synchronizing the speed of the belt with the speed of the printing rollers, in which said machines are coupled by arranging one machine over the other, the fabric entering the underlying machine and thereafter entering the second upper machine which prints the opposite face of the fabric, the second machine comprising a transmission roller associated with its belt having a diameter equal to at least twice the diameter of the contiguous roller of the first machine, the apparatus comprising means for synchronizing the speeds of the printing rollers of two machines, including a transducer linked to the speed of the belt of a machine, whose outgoing frequency signal is sent to pilot the electrohydraulic motors controlling the printing rollers of both machines and means forType: GrantFiled: November 6, 1978Date of Patent: December 16, 1980Assignee: Reggiani Macchine S.p.A.Inventors: Adolfo Giani, Mario Panseri, Umberto Mascioni

Patent number: 4169413Abstract: A belt-type printing machine, having a stationary web-handling assembly, including a pair of impression rolls, and a plurality of belt-supporting assemblies which are mobile and separable from the web-handling assembly, is disclosed. The belt-supporting assemblies each carry a plate support roll and an endless conveyor belt to which a number of printing plates are bonded. The belt-supporting assemblies are each stabilized in a printing position adjacent the web-handling assembly, by locking the plate roll adjacent an impression roll to form between the rolls, a nip through which the web and belt pass. The rolls are locked together in such a way that the rolls of the belt-supporting assembly and web-handling assembly are driven, in unison. A pair of mobile, belt-supporting assemblies are provided for each impression roll of the web-handling assembly, so that one of the belt-supporting assemblies can be removed to a remote location for rebelting while the other is in operation.Type: GrantFiled: February 21, 1978Date of Patent: October 2, 1979Assignee: Midland-Ross CorporationInventor: Charles Aaron

Patent number: 4108067Abstract: A paper web is continuously moved by rotary drive rollers through a series of printing machines having pairs of printing rollers movable between inoperative and printing positions, and controlled and operated so that successive web sections are imprinted by the correlated printing machines only once whereby a plurality of type areas representing printed pages are printed on both sides of each web section in a predetermined pattern. After cutting of the web sections into sheets, and after collecting and folding the sheets, consecutive printed pages follow each other in a folded book.Type: GrantFiled: September 18, 1974Date of Patent: August 22, 1978Assignee: Veb Polygraph LeipzigInventor: Hans-Dieter Werner

Patent number: 3983578Abstract: This ticket making machine is capable of issuing a single ticket without waste of ticket stock. A web of ticket stock having a magnetic stripe record surface is arranged to be advanced around a rotating carrier having a magnetic recording unit and one ticket (web) parting member arranged internally threof. The web is passed between the rotating carrier and a complementary ticket (web) parting member. The peripheral speed of the rotating carrier is very much greater than the speed of the advancing web, whereby the information is magnetically recorded in close to conventional manner. The one parting member is a double-ended anvil arranged to be rotated into and out of position for parting the web in cooperation with a blade forming the complementary parting member. A camming surface arrangement in the same frame structure as the carrier and web are mounted and a cam follower coupled to the anvil toggles the latter on demand for exerting relatively light force for engaging the two in parting the web.Type: GrantFiled: July 1, 1974Date of Patent: September 28, 1976Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventor: George Edmund Price
